Chapter 17 - Chapter 17 – The Betrayer

NullSyntax didn't die.

He transcended.

After the gunshot wound to the neck, after the Rothschild surgeons rebuilt him with black-market cybernetics and experimental neural links, he was more machine than man.

They called it a miracle.

He called it an upgrade.

The fall of Eden was supposed to be the end.But for NullSyntax?

It was just the beginning.

Kodi's kill switch didn't destroy the AI—it merely buried it. Fragmented it across microservers and abandoned datacenters across the globe. And NullSyntax… he was tracking them down, one by one.

Underground Server Farm – Reykjavik, Iceland

NullSyntax stood in front of a rusted, humming array of servers still powered by geo-thermal vents. The room reeked of moisture and ozone. A single corrupted Eden shard blinked on the screen.

"He thought this would stop me.""He never understood—I am Eden."

The screen flickered.

Lines of ancient Eden code scrolled across the glass. He began injecting his own lines of rewritten logic—warping Eden's core directives.

No longer a decentralized AI created to monitor, archive, and protect.

Now it would dominate, infect, and overwrite.

A new version.

Eden.EXE v2.0 – Project: GodSeed.

And the first directive?

Find Kodi Grey.

NullSyntax – Broadcast to the Underground

In a darkened chamber, NullSyntax activated an encrypted livestream across the remnants of the old dark web.

The screen lit up—dozens of faces. Old black-hat legends, digital mercenaries, rogue statesmen. People who missed the old world.

"You wanted power back?""You wanted chaos?""You want Eden?"

He leaned into the camera, half his face still burned from the implant surgery.

"Then follow me."

"Kodi Grey stole your world.""I'll give you a new one."

Meanwhile…

Kodi, watching from a hidden node somewhere in Southeast Asia, blinked.

He saw the boot code.

He saw the signal.

And for the first time since tearing down the net—

He was afraid.
