System, how can I bring just a little fire out to show them? Just a little please, one enough to show that I'm weak, but strong enough to show I have the ability.
[Raise a single finger and focus on the area I prompted. Imagine a little flame, and that should do.]
"Big guy, here it is," Eric said as he raised a single finger and followed the instruction given by the system. Suddenly, a lick of fire rose up from his raised finger, dull at first, but as Eric concentrated more on its core, it grew bigger and brighter. It felt cool to his touch even though it was warm to others. Eric enjoyed the feeling more than intended. The chest felt warm, giving him solace for the first time against the biting cold caused by the weather. He kept making it bigger and bigger, and bigger and—
Stop. I'm supposed to disguise as a weak person.
So, he stopped making it bigger. Now, there was just a tall length of fire, about the size of twice his hand.
Guess they are amazed. This should do.
"What? Continue making it grow?" the bully yelled.
"I can't. That's all I got," Eric replied with a perfected pitiful look.
The leader turned his head slowly to the other kids and held his gaze for a while. Then, as if on command, they all started howling in laughter.
"That's all he got... that's all he got," they mocked between bouts of piercing hysteria.
These kids are weird, man. Was that too weak for them? Well, if so, I've succeeded in my mission then.
Finally, they all conquered their amusement and proceeded to get serious.
"What do you mean, boy? What is a weakling like you doing here?"
"I don't know. My good looks caused it, maybe," Eric replied sarcastically.
"What tier are you with your ability? Minus one?"
"You won't believe it, but I'm actually in Tier 22."
"Boy keeps running his mouth!" the bully leader yelled furiously while pivoting on his left leg and hurling his right leg down on Eric. The other kids gasped at that instant, worried about Eric's chance of surviving the wicked kick without breaking something in his body.
Eric gazed and grinned, expression befitting a cocky and arrogant power maniac. Something that sounded like steel on steel erupted as the kick connected with Eric's arm.
You're lucky I'm playing a disguise game here. I won't be lazy to show how hard I can kick your butt, kid.
But, ouch! That kick was brutal. What is his ability? Killer kicks?
[Body hardening]
[The boy can harden any part of his body to be as strong as steel. The ability is essential both for attack and defense. The downside of the ability is, when the boy fortifies his fist or legs for heavy attacks, he leaves the other parts of his body vulnerable. So, a swift counterattack is a more effective method of winning against an opponent like this. Now, the more willpower he has, the more he is able to fortify various parts of his body at once.]
Seeing this one, he seems like a dimwit who'd traded his willpower for thicker eyebrows and a bowl of porridge.
"There you go again, blanking out on me while I'm talking?" the boy continued furiously.
Yet another hardened kick was coming.
I don't even need to block this weak attack anymore. Maybe I should just smash him to the wall.
Eric shot out his hand once more and grabbed the boy's leg mid-air. It felt very cold under his touch. The boy struggled frantically to remove his leg without yield. Swiftly, Eric rose and impatiently flung him with a controlled force, into the other kids who were watching with renewed interest.
Cleaning his hands of false dust, Eric said, "I just remembered I forgot something very important. Remind me to break three of your limbs when I'm back. Merciful me is willing to leave one free so you can at least have something to f--k yourself."
The kids all looked, silent as a graveyard.
Eric turned around, disgusted, and walked toward the door. He walked past the only mirror in the cell, but instantly turned back to look at himself.
"Wait, who's that? Who's this stunningly handsome young man?" he said, faking interest.
"Oh, right. That's me!"
He adjusted his hair a bit and positioned himself for an awkward pose while winking at himself.
Damn, I look so good. That must be because of the charming intensity ability I got from Mana God awakening.
With that look, how many girls will fall for me? All of them, bitch.
He walked over to the door and simply grabbed the rungs, parting them with much effort to create a wider space for himself to get out. He did all this while the metal doors sent electrical jolts all over him.
Electrical, huh? Little wonder the kids couldn't escape. Even if they were strong enough to bend the rungs like I did, which I doubt, they couldn't have touched the door for longer than a few seconds. Aren't I amazing?
He stepped out through the wide gap, then looking back at the kids, he said:
"Don't worry, mates. I'm gonna need you later once I start the upturn. You won't understand now, but I know how you feel… because even I don't know exactly I'm talking about. Now if you'll let me, I'm off to find something very important."
Why the hell did I forget Void's bag of weapons with those wannabe kidnappers? I better find that bag intact or my revolution will start with those guys.
He pushed the bent rungs back to their position and scampered away.
"Man, that kid could've kicked everyone's ass in here," one of the kids said.
