Chapter 6 - Blood of a Demon in Human Skin

The man laughs, his aura flaring as he descends the staircase.

Jin remains calm, his body unmoving. Jin has no magic to show, but the mere bloodthirst and will Jin presents is more than enough.

"A boy with no magic, just a blade, comes to fight the likes of me?"

"I wouldn't be so sure of winning if I were you."

The man lifts his hands, instantly shooting a scarlet swirl of slime straight at Jin.

On mere instinct, Jin shifts to the left, completely dodging the attack.

In a swift move, Jin launched forward in attack, slashing his blade, swiftly cutting through the stomach of the man.

"You think a small cut will defeat me?"

"Doesn't look small to me."

The man stands up, healing himself.

"I am a god amongst humans, a King of cursed magic."

"God amongst humans? I said that once. I guess I'll have to take my title back."

Jin makes a grin, holding his stance unbothered by the magic swirling around.

The man forms a blade and points it directly at Jin.

"No mortal has the strength to take me on."

I remember my father saying that once… He told me this all the time, reminding me I couldn't win. But I did win, which means he isn't as good as he proclaims.

Jin lifts his blade, pointing it directly at the man's neck.

"I hereby sentence you to death, for crimes against morality."

"YOU'RE A FOOL!"

Jin lunges, striking straight for the man's neck.

Blood spills on the ground. Jin falls to his knees, his entire right shoulder cut open.

"Damn… I guess I overestimated that."

Jin stands back up, grabbing his blade with his left.

In a single swift motion, the man shoots in to strike Jin while he's off guard.

Jin turns and swings with every last ounce of strength he has.

Jin's blade cuts the man's blade in half, the broken end blowing into small pieces on the ground.

This is it, if I'm going to win, this is it!

Jin strikes the man through the chest. An explosion of magic expels from Jin's blade as he slices through him.

The man remains on the ground, coughing blood.

"Who the h-hell are you? H-how can o-one have d-done t-this?"

"You left your blade vulnerable. From what I learned, striking with my strength flowering with my opponents is the best."

"W-what the H-hell does that mean?"

"That's not important. What I need is that key to the slave's rooms."

Jin reaches down, pulling some keys from the man. Jin proceeds to grab the man's head and slam it into the ground, instantly killing him.

Jin walks to the dungeon entrance. And opens the door.

A small group of women, all locked up, wearing nothing but a few strips of cloth.

"Holy shit, this guy was even more fucked up than I thought."

Jin turns and walks into a big room on the left and finds a wardrobe of clothes.

"None of these clothes are much better, but it's a step up from cloth."

Jin tosses a box of clothes into the room.

"Get dressed, all of you. There is a young boy outside looking for his mom. Do any of you have a caring young son?"

A woman steps forward, putting on half of a maid's outfit.

"I have a son, many of the women here never got married… but I have a son, a young boy with shaggy brown hair."

"Sounds about right. Alright,t he's outside, so you might want to hurry up."

Jin walks back to the front staircase, seeing a pool of his blood and the man's blood.

Jin's blood was a deep, dark red, so dark it could be mistaken for black. Unlike Jin's, the man's blood was bright red, abnormally bright.

May whatever God I have disrespected feel at peace… I mean no harm; I am merely cutting down the wicked.

"I've never observed my blood like this… Why is it so dark?"

Now that I recall Mori's blood was also this dark… How peculiar.
