Pov Roum
The leaves appeared.
This is not a skills test.
It's a personality test.
And I have no idea what grade I deserve.
There was only one question written in the center of the sheet
– (What am I supposed to do?)
I'm trying to think about what this question could possibly be referring to.
"What do you feel when you think about the color red?"
I glance briefly at the copies next to me
?
It was the same question
"Focus on your copy," Alpha 1 whispered, "there is no universal answer."
I froze, brought my copy closer, and activated my electric pen.
–(such a simple question is bound to be a trap; there's a lot of space in the file, red color
Red? …
Color ? ….
Redddddddd ? …
Red !
Uh huh~….!?)
Nothing was vomiting in my head; the more I thought about red, the more a great black void there was in my head.
Am I exaggerating?
Perhaps I'm just too stupid?
I've always been stupid, that's not the problem. What do they want to understand because I feel...?
I relax and rest my head on the desk
I wasn't thinking about anything, I was counting the steps the supervisors were taking in the room. The most intriguing thing was the others filling out their files and even making them taller. Was there a lesson to learn? Was it philosophy?
Shadows moved across the rows, and time followed the same rhythm.
Then
Tick tock!
A cold hand landed on my shoulder, making me jump.
"Time is passing," she murmured.
"There are only 30 minutes left," Alpha-1 whispered from above, lingering over my paper.
I straightened up, ran a hand over my face, and picked up my copy, still as blank and white as the depths of my thoughts.
"Get ready to hand in your papers," whispered one of the proctors in white.
I was still as lost as at the beginning, watching my copy file itself and leaving it there.
I did my best
Nothing, as always I'm useless
I stretch out in my seat and cover my face with both arms.
"Please clear the room," ordered a supervisor.
My desk vanished instantly, along with my presence in the room. I was probably the first to slip away, finding myself outside, knocked down by a cool breeze. I stretched, as if revived by this unfortunate exercise.
"You absolutely nailed this exercise," Ela breathed, already waiting for me.
I gave a slight smile and scratched my head
– Yes, yes, I did my best in a way
"That didn't go well, that's it," she sighed, taking me in her arms.
– It'll be fine, I just wanted to know if we have any lessons to review.
"No, come on, I'll teach you how to use our uniforms," Ela laughed. "Don't worry, there's no glass here, we'll be outdoors."
– how do you know, by covering my face
"But you have to be careful," she said more seriously, "we don't communicate, but don't forget we won't be the only ones, and some people hate people like us."
