Chapter 4 - 4: Paimon’s “Traveler Logbook” Project

"That reward is insane!"

Paimon was still in shock.

She had seen it with her own eyes—Lumine floating in midair, commanding the wind like it was an extension of herself.

That wasn't a Vision. That was something entirely new.

Until now, she had never seen Lumine do anything like that.

Which meant… there was only one explanation.

She really did get that ability from the manga!

So… it's real.

Reading manga really does grant rewards!

Paimon's eyes lit up like stars.

If Lumine could get something that powerful, didn't that mean she might actually get the Gourmet Tablecloth?

She couldn't sit still anymore.

Zoom!

She zipped back to her seat and dove into her manga with renewed enthusiasm.

Lumine chuckled at the sight and sat down as well, flipping through One Piece again.

The story was just too good—it deserved more than one read.

Another hour passed.

Eventually, Paimon finished her book.

"That was amazing!"

She closed the manga, her little face full of delight.

To her, Cardcaptor Sakura was surprisingly engaging.

It told the story of a young girl named Sakura Kinomoto, who embarks on a journey to retrieve the powerful Clow Cards to save the world.

Paimon couldn't help but feel a deep connection.

She and Lumine were just like Sakura and Kero—partners facing every challenge together.

Which made it incredibly easy for her to get immersed in the story.

Plus, Sakura was super cute. Adorably cute.

Still, in Paimon's opinion… Lumine was even cuter.

Then there was Tomoyo Daidouji—another character she really liked.

Especially the video camera she carried around.

If only I had one of those…

That way, she could record all of Lumine's battles and adventures!

Yes! That's it!

She'd start her own series: "The Traveler's Logbook"!

But as she read on, Paimon started getting upset.

There was a character named Yukito. He was really close to Sakura, and Paimon had thought he'd be an ally.

…But things weren't that simple.

But to her surprise, Yukito's true identity was revealed—he was actually the Judge of the Moon.

He suddenly stood opposite of Sakura, as her enemy.

That was just… brutal.

Paimon shook her head, thinking back to the look on Sakura's face at that moment.

How heartbreaking...

Well, that kind of thing would never happen to her and Lumine.

They were partners for life!

Though the manga was great, Paimon couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed—she hadn't found the Gourmet Tablecloth that Han Feng had mentioned.

"Boss, where's the Gourmet Tablecloth? I didn't see it anywhere!"

She flew up to the counter, eyes wide and pitiful.

She'd been looking forward to that item the whole time.

But she'd flipped through the entire manga and never saw it.

"That particular item comes from a manga called Doraemon," Han Feng explained with a smile. "It's not in the shop yet."

"Oh, I see… Boss, you better stock it soon then! I'll be back for sure,"

Paimon looked a little down, but still hopeful.

At that moment, the system interface refreshed again.

[Customer Paimon has finished reading Cardcaptor Sakura. Reward granted: Tomoyo Daidouji's Video Camera]

[Tomoyo's Camera: Capable of recording ultra-high-definition video. Perfect for daily life or travel.]

[Note: System-optimized. Infinite battery and memory. Automatically sized to match user. No maintenance required.]

Buzz—

A beam of radiant light descended again.

A small, lightweight video camera landed gently in Paimon's hands.

"Eh? What's this?"

Paimon blinked in surprise, recognizing it instantly.

"That's a video camera. It records people and events around you—if you read the manga, you should know how it works," Han Feng said with a chuckle.

"Awesome! I was just wishing I had one!"

Paimon's face lit up with joy.

…But then she frowned. She had no idea how to use it.

"Here, I'll show you."

Before transmigrating, Han Feng had worked part-time as a photographer, so he was more than qualified to teach her.

Under his patient guidance, Paimon quickly got the hang of it.

"Also, you don't need to worry about batteries or memory—it's unlimited," Han Feng added.

"Hehe! That's perfect! Now I can film Lumine nonstop!"

Paimon hugged the camera to her chest, beaming with excitement.

"Film? Film what?"

Lumine raised an eyebrow, sensing something fishy.

Why did this suddenly involve her?

"Uh—n-nothing at all!"

Paimon quickly hid the camera behind her back and changed the subject.

"Let's go find Amber! She's probably been waiting a while now!"

No way could she let Lumine find out. That would ruin the surprise!

"Ah, right, we should hurry."

Now that Paimon mentioned it, Lumine remembered her earlier promise to meet up with Amber.

She'd originally planned to take a quick stroll through Mondstadt before heading over.

Who knew they'd stumble into a mysterious manga shop—and get so hooked they completely lost track of time?

Amber was the first friend she and Paimon had made. They couldn't keep her waiting.

"Thanks for the rewards, Boss."

The two of them turned and thanked Han Feng sincerely.

If not for him, they wouldn't have received such incredible gifts.

Han Feng smiled. "It's all just luck. Come back any time if you liked it."

"Of course!"

Lumine and Paimon nodded enthusiastically.

After all, who wouldn't want to come back when reading manga could give you real powers?

Not to mention—the stories were genuinely amazing.
