Chapter 129 - 129: The Anywhere Door and Dorayaki; Little Paimon: Wait, Where’s My Gourmet Tablecloth?!

"The manga is over there on the shelf."

After pocketing the Mora, Han Feng pointed to a bookshelf nearby.

Hu Tao skipped over and saw that there was only one book left on it.

"Mr. Vampire?"

She picked it up, curiously examining the cover.

On the top was a man in a yellow Taoist robe,

And below was a golden bell, within which a faint zombie silhouette could be seen.

"This… kinda seems related to Qiqi?"

Intrigued, Hu Tao carried the manga over to the discussion area and found a seat.

"So this place called 'Yizhuang' is where coffins are kept? Hmm, guess that's similar to Wangsheng Funeral Parlor."

"They're opening the coffin now—ooh, as expected, it's a zombie!"

"Pfft, this Qiusheng guy's amazing. Even a female ghost falls for him."

It didn't take long before Hu Tao was completely absorbed in the plot.

At the counter, Noelle poured Han Feng a cup of tea, curiosity glinting in her eyes.

"Boss, what kind of business does that Wangsheng Parlor actually do? Is it… selling wine?"

Noelle tilted her head.

Why else would it be 'second cup half-price'?

That poor girl looked so pitiful…

Should she go help her after she finished reading?

"Funeral services," Han Feng replied with a faint smile.

(⊙_⊙)

Fun… funerals?!

Noelle froze.

So that's what that girl was promoting?!

And when she said 'second tablet half-price,' she'd meant tombstones…

If Han Feng hadn't stepped in earlier, she might have actually agreed to try it.

"Ahem… helping with that might be… a bit difficult. I'll… think about it," Noelle muttered, lowering her head in embarrassment.

She was only fourteen!

Not exactly the right age for… that kind of "experience."

And even if she were, who in their right mind would volunteer for it?

But refusing outright wasn't in her nature either.

Maybe… she could ask around in Mondstadt later?

If Hu Tao knew what she was thinking, she'd probably happily gift Noelle a top-quality coffin on the spot…

A while later, the day's very first customers—Lumine and little Paimon—finished their manga as well.

Paimon came zipping over from the discussion area, excitement radiating off her tiny frame.

"Boss! I finished the manga! Where's my reward—my Gourmet Tablecloth, hehe!"

She'd been waiting forever for this moment.

"What if the reward isn't the Gourmet Tablecloth?" Lumine teased with a laugh.

After all, in Doraemon, there were way too many gadgets to count.

The odds of drawing that particular tablecloth were slim to none.

"Hmph! Then I'll just come read this manga every single day until I get it! The manga's fun anyway!" Paimon puffed out her cheeks, hands behind her back.

Just then, the system refreshed:

[Customer Paimon has finished reading Doraemon. Reward: One portion of Dorayaki.]

[Dorayaki: A dessert made with fluffy cakes filled with sweet red bean paste. Doraemon's favorite food.]

[Customer Lumine has finished reading Doraemon. Reward: Anywhere Door.]

[Anywhere Door: A door that can travel up to ten light-years, leading to any place. Once opened, it allows instant access to any location on the user's map.]

[Note:

Modified by the system—can be collapsed and carried at will.

Only locations that the user has personally visited will appear on the map.]

"The difference between these two rewards is like heaven and earth…" Han Feng chuckled in amusement.

Paimon's reward was dorayaki. Cute, but far from her dream prize.

She'd probably sulk for a while.

Still, it was a delicious treat—surely she'd like it.

As for Lumine's reward— Now that was a game-changer!

The Anywhere Door was one of Doraemon's most useful gadgets, second only to the Bamboo Copter and the Time Machine.

With it, Nobita and his friends could go anywhere they wanted with ease.

Of course, even science-fiction gadgets had their limits.

One: it couldn't exceed ten light-years.

But on Teyvat, that was more than enough.

Two: the destination had to already exist on the user's personal map.

Meaning Lumine herself had to have visited the place first.

Even with that restriction, it was still an unbelievably powerful reward—

The kind of thing merchants would go to war over.

"Boss Han, so… my reward is the tablecloth, right?"

Seeing Han Feng lost in thought, Paimon tugged nervously at his sleeve.

"It's something you like," Han Feng replied with a smile.

Food. Of course Paimon would like it.

"Really?!"

Paimon's eyes sparkled with excitement.

That had to mean the Gourmet Tablecloth was hers at last!

"Could it be Paimon's luck is finally turning around today?" Lumine mused, equally surprised.

A one-in-ten-thousand chance, and Paimon actually pulled it off?

But before she could finish her thought, two radiant beams of light enveloped them both.

Moments later, the glow around Lumine faded.

In front of her stood a massive pink doorframe.

"It's the Anywhere Door?!"

Paimon exclaimed the moment she saw it.

This was one of Nobita's go-to gadgets—she knew it well.

If Lumine got something that powerful, then surely hers would be amazing too!

Paimon rubbed her little hands together in anticipation as the glow around her faded.

But instead of the patterned Gourmet Tablecloth she had pictured,

She found herself holding… a round, golden-brown pastry shaped like two tiny gongs pressed together.

Paimon: (⊙_⊙)

What the—?!

Where's my giant Gourmet Tablecloth?!

She looked at Lumine's Anywhere Door, then back at the snack in her hands…

Her mind went completely blank.
