Chapter 24 - Chapter 24 Departure, Syrup Village!

Orange Town, on the roof of a house.

"St-Straw Hat, what are you doing?"

Buggy questioned in terror, his voice filled with extreme panic.

At this moment, he was chopped into several pieces, tied together with a rope, and then placed inside a cannon.

"Captain Buggy!!!"

Buggy's subordinates called out his name in alarm and worry, yet no one dared to step forward and stop him.

After all, Buggy himself had just been following Luffy's commands in front of everyone, so how could they dare to act now?

Meanwhile, Luffy was holding a torch and said to Buggy inside the cannon.

"Don't worry! With your physical constitution, you'll definitely be fine…"

Saying that, Luffy lit the fuse.

Bang!

With a huge roar, Buggy was launched out.

At this moment, Luffy looked at Buggy, who was gradually shrinking into a small dot, and slowly added.

"…as long as you're lucky enough not to fall into the sea."

Buggy's subordinates had originally breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing Luffy's initial words, but upon suddenly hearing the latter part, their eyes widened, and they recalled an important matter.

"Captain Buggy is a Devil Fruit user; he'll be done for if he falls into the sea."

"Hurry and save Captain Buggy."

The next second, they chased after the direction Buggy flew off in, running away in a flash.

...

"We're rich, we're rich!"

"So much treasure, at least ten million Berries!"

"That Buggy Pirate Crew is really wealthy!"

"Hehe! I'll gladly accept this!"

Nami excitedly muttered to herself while rapidly packing up the treasure in Buggy's tent.

She didn't notice that two people were standing behind her at that moment.

Luffy truly admired Nami's greed.

She didn't even care about the fun of him firing the real Buggy Bomb just now; instead, she secretly ran off to pack up treasure while no one was paying attention.

"Cough, cough…"

Luffy lightly coughed twice, startling Nami.

But this time, she wasn't as flustered as when she first met Luffy; after all, she was his crew member now, so she said with a grin:

"Hehe! Captain, I'm collecting spoils of war for us!"

In reality, what Nami was thinking was…

("All this treasure is mine; I'm just temporarily keeping it with you. I won't leave it for you!")

As soon as Nami finished speaking, two large bags full of treasure were neatly organized and placed in front of her.

She didn't know where she got the strength, but she managed to carry one bag in each hand, swing them behind her, and carry both large bags of treasure on her back.

Then she excitedly said to Luffy:

"Alright, let's go, Captain!"

This scene made Luffy sigh with emotion once again.

As long as it involved treasure, Nami could unleash endless power.

"Give me one bag!"

Luffy reached out to take it.

"It's fine, Captain, I can carry it."

Nami said, while also sighing inwardly:

'I didn't expect this idiot to be quite the gentleman!'

Unexpectedly, Luffy added another sentence:

"I need this treasure for something useful."

Saying that, he ignored Nami's confusion and took a bag from her back.

Nami didn't know what Luffy meant by "useful," but since Luffy was the Captain, she couldn't go against his wishes.

...

After gathering all their belongings, the group headed towards the port they had arrived from.

Luffy and Nami each carried a bag of treasure worth around 5 million Berries, while Uta carried the packed Buggy Bomb and two blueprints.

Upon reaching the port, they saw Zoro sitting on the ground, meditating and cultivating.

It seemed the previous battle had given him a new improvement, and he was currently integrating all the improvements.

Apparently sensing the nearby movement, Zoro opened his eyes and stopped meditating.

Stopping midway would not undo his progress, so he was not in a hurry at this moment.

"Did you all do something just now? I saw all those pirates suddenly run out to sea and leave, and they even took the two guys I defeated with them."

Zoro recalled the strange scene he had just witnessed and asked Luffy and the others with confusion.

"I put their Captain in a cannon and launched him, so they went to look for their Captain."

Luffy briefly explained, then immediately said:

"Alright, it's time for us to depart!"

As soon as Luffy finished speaking, the group boarded the ship one after another.

Suddenly, Nami, who had boarded the ship earlier, noticed that Luffy had "forgotten" the treasure in his hand on the shore, and immediately reminded him nervously:

"Captain, the treasure, you forgot to take the treasure."

While reminding him, Nami couldn't help but complain in her mind:

'What an idiot, he can even forget something so important.'

What puzzled her was that even though Luffy heard her reminder, he didn't seem to have any intention of going back for it.

"Luffy?!"

Nami called out Luffy's name in confusion, her eyes filled with bewilderment.

Then she saw Luffy standing on the deck, looking at the town ahead and saying:

"This town was too severely damaged by Buggy's crew, and much of the treasure we plundered from Buggy also belongs to the residents of this town."

"Let's leave those 5 million Berries for the residents here to renovate the town!"

...

"Your comprehension is heaven-defying; through personal experience, your spirit has been enhanced."

"Your spirit has been enhanced, and your Conqueror's Haki has been strengthened."

A prompt appeared in Luffy's mind.

At the same time, Nami was stunned when she heard Luffy's words.

She didn't expect Luffy, as a pirate, to be willing to give away treasure that could have been his to these ordinary civilians.

Is such a pirate truly a pirate?

At this moment, Nami smiled.

For some reason, she felt exceptionally good.

After their ship had traveled some distance, the figures of an old man and a dog appeared on the shore.

When they opened the bag and saw the treasure inside, the old man was moved to tears and deeply remembered the faces of the few people he had secretly seen while hiding in a house earlier.

Watching the ship sail leisurely into the distance, the old man knelt down with a thud, gratefully bowing his head in farewell.

...

"Captain, where do we go next?"

Nami looked at the two figures on the shore from afar across the sea, appearing exceptionally happy.

"Well! It's time to get a pirate ship of our own, isn't it!"

Luffy pondered, stroking his chin.

Arlitta's ship was too slow, and the whole ship covered in hearts and pink colors was also something Luffy was fed up with; sailing on such a ship all the time, others might think they had strange fetishes.

"I heard that on the closest island from here, there's a prominent family whose business is making sea vessels. I think I heard someone call it Syrup Village before?!"

Zoro recalled information he had heard from others when he was a pirate hunter.

Luffy smiled as soon as he heard the familiar name.

"Alright! Then let's set off for this Syrup Village!"
