Chapter 4 - Forget Liam, her standards were higher 1

Aurora downed the glass of tequila in front of her. Pushed the glass to the bartender and requested another drink.

"Hey, pretty lady." She looked to her side to find a charming blonde man staring at her. Was he speaking to her?

"You don't look like you belong here…" She furrowed her brows, "I meant that in a good way." He quickly added.

He pulled out the stool close to her and sat, "I could keep this seat warm for a while. You don't mind me sitting, right?"

The bartender returned her glass, and she brought the glass close to her lips, she said, "You are already seated." The tequila burned its way down her throat.

"It looks like you could use some distractions. Guess what? I'm good at that." She stared at the man, was he hitting on her?

Right now, she wanted all the time she could get alone and wasn't ready to speak to anyone.

She cancelled hooking up with someone.

That won't work.

Aurora moved her chair a few inches away from the man. He did the same.

"Come on, pretty, don't be shy, what's your name? Had a long day at work? Boyfriend problems?" Then to the bartender he said, "Give me anything strong."

"Is this like a habit? Interrogating strangers at the bar?"

"Oh, she finally speaks." The man looked thrilled. "I was beginning to think you're mute."

Aurora gritted her teeth, when she left her home, speaking to a psycho at the bar wasn't one of her bucket list.

"No love. I just-"

"Don't call me that. It's cringe." She scrunches up her face like she heard something disgusting. "Do you think this is charming? Crossing the lines?" She would normally not say anything or quietly leave for a better spot, but the alcohol in her system made her bold.

Too bold.

She drank the third glass of tequila for the night. Now she was already tipsy.

"No pretty, you're just the fortunate one tonight."

"I think this is more like being unfortunate."

"It doesn't matter how you phrase it." He moved his chair closer this time, leaving no little space between them.

He leaned forward, his lips a few inches from her ear, "How about we go out. Say for ten minutes, and I'll help you relieve the stress." His eyes moved to her exposed cleavage.

She looked at him and then smiled.

Blonde relaxed, for a moment, it seemed she was considering his plans.

She leaned towards him, he was positive she would agree, "disgusting creep, get lost before you embarrass yourself, I'm not scared of causing a scene." She started firmly.

His smile fell. She held her glass and clinked it on his, "Now, shoo."

She didn't wait for him to leave. Instead, she stood pushing the stool back roughly, and it almost fell.

She placed the glass on the table. Her head felt heavy and the entire place began to spin. She took a step forward, her body moving side by side.

She stood, trying to even her breath. "Why are there potholes everywhere?"

Everyone was too busy with whatever they were doing to care about a drunk woman.

Aurora staggered all the way to the restroom.

She stopped in front of the door and pushed it open. The entire place looked blurry. The restroom was empty.

After relieving herself, she stood in front of the mirror and poured water on her face.

The door freaked open and closed.

Aurora wiped her hand and face with a disposable napkin, she turned and came face to face with a man.

She perfectly remembered entering the female restroom. She drew her brows together.

"You!" She seized the blonde man with her eyes. He was the same man from earlier, "You can't be dumb enough to not know this is a female restroom."

The man stepped forward, "Or wait, you didn't follow me here, did you?" His steps slowed, then stopped. He turned around and walked back.

Aurora let out a breath, she was scared for a while.

Her eyes widened slightly when he locked the door instead of leaving.

"What do you think you are doing?" she tried to sound bold, but her shaking voice betrayed her.

She was alone with this man.

A man!

It didn't feel safe one bit.

"Relax pretty, I told you before, we won't be doing whatever you don't like…" he paused, "but I think you want whatever I do to you." His voice is low and lazy.

Aurora pressed her back against the sink, her eyes darting around the restroom, looking for something.

Anything she can use in case this creep tries something funny.

"Stay back." Aurora began, her heart pounding behind its cage, dread slowly rising in her stomach.

Blonde took a step forward, "and if I don't?"

"If you don't…" She returned her gaze to him, and her legs felt weak. "If you don't, I swear… I'll make you regret stepping into the bar tonight."

There wasn't much a girl could do in front of a man like this.

Blonde lets out a loud mocking laugh. His gaze moved from her for a brief moment.

Aurora caught sight of a mental soap dispenser on the wall. She just had to reach it and slam it across his head.

"You think screaming is going to help, well, sorry to burst your bubbles, this wall is soundproof…" he smirked "you can vaguely guess the reason." He said.

"You think I'm one of those helpless girls you prey on?" She asked, moving to the side.

Three steps to the side and she would reach for the soap dispenser.

"If those are your thoughts, you are miserably mistaken." She took another step to the side.

One more step and she would be out of here.

"Let's see about that."

He moved one step towards her at the same time she did to the side, and grabbed her by her waist, pulling her close to himself.

Luckily, she grabbed the mental soap dispenser and raised it with all her strength before bringing it down on his head.

He ducked skillfully, avoiding the mental, grabbed her hand holding the dispenser and twisted it until the mental hit the ground.

"I've had enough encounters to know these tricks. Sorry, it ain't working on me."
