Poolside, Five Minutes After Planning
The Supplementary Lessons Club reassembled in swimsuits, clutching brushes and hoses from the storage. Except Hanako—in her full uniform.
"…"
"…"
"…"
"Let's start cleaning!" Hanako declared.
"Wait!" Koharu interrupted.
"What's wrong, Koharu-chan?" Hanako asked.
"You wore a swimsuit to clean, so why a uniform now!? Are you actually dumb!? You said wear something that's okay to get wet!" Koharu yelled.
"This is my 'okay to get wet' outfit," Hanako said.
Trinity's white uniform would turn transparent when wet—obviously a bad choice.
"What are you even saying!? Wet uniforms are fine!?" Koharu shouted.
"It's a matter of aesthetics, Koharu-chan," Hanako replied.
"Aesthetics?" Koharu blinked.
"Swimsuit or uniform—which looks better wet?" Hanako asked.
"Better… what!? What's that mean!?" Koharu stammered.
"Kidding! I've got a bikini underneath. Just bought it," Hanako clarified.
"Fine…" Koharu muttered.
"Pool cleaning, start! ♡" Hanako announced.
"Wait, Sensei's not here," Hifumi said.
"Where'd he go?" Koharu asked.
"Said he's preparing and left," Hifumi replied.
Mash appeared, holding plastic bags, still in training wear.
"What's that, Sensei?" Hifumi asked.
"Water balloons, squirt guns, floaties," Mash said.
"We're cleaning first, aren't you early?" Koharu said.
"Gotta prep early," Mash replied.
"Fair! Let's finish fast and play!" Hifumi cheered.
"Now that we're all here, cleaning begins!" Hanako declared.
They started, Hanako grinning. "Why the uniform, Hanako-chan?"
"Well, it's like this…" Hanako explained vaguely.
"Got it," Mash said.
(He understood that!? No way anyone would!) Koharu thought.
"Look, a rainbow!" Hanako called, spraying a hose overhead in the pool basin. Water splashed Hifumi, who flinched at the cold.
"Eek! Hanako-chan, that's cold!" Hifumi yelped.
"It's from Trinity's lake—safe to drink!" Hanako said.
"Really? I'll try—" Mash opened his mouth.
Whack! Azusa hurled a water balloon at Mash's face, hard.
"Whoa! Azusa, what was that!?" Koharu shouted.
"Sorry, saw the balloon and couldn't resist," Azusa said.
"Why aim at Sensei!?" Koharu asked.
"He won't get hurt, even if I throw hard," Azusa replied.
"Nice one, Azusa-chan—take this!" Mash tossed a balloon back.
"Too slow!" Azusa dodged.
"Not bad," Mash grinned.
"Dangerous!" Koharu ducked.
Whistle-whistle-whistle!
"Bullet-dodging training, huh? Too easy, Sensei," Azusa smirked.
"We're cleaning!" Koharu yelled.
"No worries, I can finish fast," Mash said.
"Then don't play—!" Koharu started.
"Take this, Sensei! Azusa Shoot!" Azusa threw another.
"Not today! Mash Shoot!" Mash countered.
"Do it somewhere else!" Koharu screamed.
Their water balloon battle escalated, the force so strong that splashes blasted dirt off the walls.
"You two!" Hifumi called.
"They're having fun ♡," Hanako said.
"Not the time! We can't clean like this—" Koharu said.
SPLASH!
"…" Mash and Azusa froze.
A balloon hit Koharu's face. "Fine, I'm in!" she roared.
"Koharu's joining? Fun!" Azusa said.
"Don't enjoy this!" Hifumi protested.
"Perfect! Hifumi-chan, let's join! Come on!" Hanako urged.
"Even you, Hanako-chan!? We're supposed to clean first…" Hifumi glanced at the group—Azusa smiling faintly, Hanako beaming, Koharu fired up. "Fine, I'm in too!"
The club abandoned cleaning for water balloons and squirt guns, reveling in the chaos.
Night, Poolside
The sun was gone, only the sound of rippling water remained. They'd enjoyed the water fight but couldn't swim in the pool, leaving them slightly disappointed.
"…"
"No swimming after all," Hifumi said.
"Filling the pool takes time. My bad," Hanako apologized.
"Sorry, I got carried away," Mash added.
"Don't worry, it was fun," Azusa said, gazing at the water. "Pretty."
"Midnight pools are rare," Hanako agreed, watching the moon's reflection.
The lively mood turned calm, almost melancholic.
"Koharu-chan, sleepy?" Hanako asked.
"N-No! Just… tired," Koharu mumbled.
"We've been cleaning all day," Hifumi said. "Sensei too—"
"Zzzz…" Mash slept standing up.
"He's asleep on his feet!?" Koharu gasped.
"Core strength or what…" Azusa muttered.
Hifumi nudged him. "Sensei!"
"Huh? Not sleeping," Mash said.
"Liar," Azusa said.
"Everyone's tired. Let's sleep," Hanako suggested.
"Tomorrow's study time," Mash said.
"Gotta push through," Koharu sighed.
"Good work, everyone!" Hifumi said.
They dispersed, exhausted, to their rooms quietly.
"Everyone's asleep… Arona-chan," Mash whispered.
"Yes, Sensei! Let's study hard tonight!" Arona replied.
"Yeah," Mash said, grabbing a notebook, pen, and textbook.
He studied alone in his room.
