The meeting room in the lodge was thick with a tension that had nothing to do with the earlier battle. The adrenaline had faded, replaced by the grim, cold reality of the situation. Akaza stood by the window, his arms crossed, his gaze lost in the dark, silent forest outside. He had been cleared by the medics.
Bruised, but his enhanced durability had shrugged off the worst of the Nomu's attack.
Aizawa, his face a grim mask, paced the room. "No leads. The police have set up a perimeter, but the villains who escaped, Dabi and the warp gate, are long gone. And with them, Bakugo."
Nezu sat at the head of the table, his small paws steepled, his usual cheerful expression replaced by one of cold, hard calculation. "They were brilliant," he said, his voice a low, dangerous hum. "The attack on Asura was a feint, a perfectly executed one. They sent a specialized, high-speed Nomu to pin down our strongest piece, knowing he would be drawn into a one-on-one fight. It was a distraction, designed to buy their other units time."
"They split our forces," Aizawa growled. "They knew our layout, our patrol routes... they had a mole. It's the only explanation."
"Indeed," Nezu agreed, his beady eyes narrowing. "And now, they have their prize, and we are left completely in the dark. We have no leads, no location, and no idea what their next move is."
The room fell into a heavy silence.
Clack. Clack. Clack.
The sound was jarring in the quiet room. Nezu had placed a small, old-fashioned flip phone on the table. It was vibrating, an incoming call from an unknown number. Aizawa tensed, but Nezu simply held up a paw.
He answered, putting it on speaker. "You're late."
A lazy voice filtered through the speaker. "Sorry, boss. Had to make sure I wasn't followed. You wouldn't believe the amount of feathers I had to spread to get this for you. Cost me a pretty penny, too."
"Hawks," Aizawa said, his voice full of relief.
"Aizawa! Good to hear your grumpy voice," Hawks chirped. "Yeah, I got something for you. My informant in the underworld finally cashed in his big chip. He'd been hearing whispers of a new 'League' base, somewhere they were stocking... 'products.' After what happened at the camp, I put all my resources into it."
"And?" Nezu asked, his voice sharp.
"And I found it. A bar in Kamino Ward, Yokohama. And, a few blocks away, a warehouse. That's where they're keeping him. My informant confirmed it. The League is holding Bakugo in that factory."
Akaza's eyes snapped open.
"Are you certain?" Nezu asked, his voice deadly serious.
"My guy has never been wrong. And he charged me enough for it that I'd believe him. The location is yours. What you do with it… well, that's up to you. I'm a bit busy playing double agent, so I can't join the party. Good luck."
The line went dead.
Nezu stared at the phone. A slow, cold, terrifying smile spread across his face. "Well, Aizawa," he said, hopping onto the table. "It seems we have a war to plan."
"We'll call the police, assemble a strike team," Aizawa said, already moving into professional mode.
"Yes," Nezu interrupted. "The heroes. They will be the hammer. They will strike the bar, the main base. They will draw all the attention. They will be the spectacular, televised rescue everyone expects."
"And the factory?" Aizawa asked.
Nezu's gaze shifted to Akaza, who was already watching him, having understood the plan the moment Hawks mentioned two locations.
"The factory is a black-ops mission," Nezu stated. "The pros will be loud. You, Asura, will be silent. You will be the scalpel. The pros will begin their assault on the bar tomorrow night. The instant they do, every villain's attention will be on them. That will be your opening. You go in, your only priority is the retrieval and safety of Katsuki Bakugo. Get in, get him, get out."
"Understood," Akaza simply nodded, his black eyes like chips of ice. "I'll bring him home."

The next evening, the mood at the Yaoyorozu estate was deeply somber. Momo, her arm still in a sling, had insisted on hosting. She felt a crushing guilt, a responsibility she couldn't shake. The class, minus Akaza, Rumi, and Bakugo, sat in her opulent living room, the silence heavy.
Mina was the first to break it, her voice small. "I… I keep thinking about what Bakugo said." She looked at her hands, her usual bubbly energy completely gone. "We… we called him a monster. Akaza, I mean. We called him a monster right after he saved us. We... we were wrong, weren't we?"
Momo looked up, her own eyes red-rimmed. "We were terrified. We saw… that. But Bakugo was right. Muscular... he broke my arm like it was a twig. He was going to kill us. He was going to kill Rumi. Akaza… he did what he had to do. He did the thing we were all too weak to do. And we... we called him a villain for it."
The shame in the room was palpable.
"But… but still…" Izuku started, his voice trembling. He had to say it. He had to believe it. "Killing him… torturing him like that… it can't be the only way. All Might would have… he would have found a way to save everyone. He would have beaten the villain and saved Rumi and saved the villain from himself! That's what it means to be a hero! Akaza gave in to his rage, and now… now Kacchan is gone! What if Akaza's actions made them angry and they took Kacchan as revenge? This is all… it's all connected!"
He was spiraling, trying to find a logic that kept his ideals intact.
"And… and we should be doing something!" Izuku said, his voice rising with a desperate, familiar conviction. "I… I have an idea. We could go. We could save Kacchan ourselves! If we all work together, we can find him!"
"No."
The voice was cold. Shoto Todoroki stood up from his seat by the window. He looked at Izuku, his heterochromatic eyes sharp.
"What?" Izuku stammered.
"I said, no," Shoto repeated. "We are not going. We were given a direct order by Principal Nezu and Aizawa-sensei to stand down. We are going to follow that order."
"But Akaza stayed back!" Izuku countered, his voice desperate. "He's going to fight! Why can he, and we can't?!"
"Because Principal Nezu asked him to, Midoriya." Shoto's words were like chips of ice, cutting Izuku to the quick. "Did he ask you? Did he ask any of us?"
Izuku's mouth opened, then closed. He had no answer.
"We are not pros," Shoto continued, his voice resonating with a new, firm authority. "We are students. We got in the way, we got our classmates hurt, and one of us got kidnapped. Going out on our own is not just stupid, it's arrogant. It's the exact opposite of what Akaza, or any real hero, would do."
He looked at Izuku, his gaze unwavering. "I believe in Principal Nezu's plan. And… I believe in Akaza. I am 100% sure he will bring Bakugo back safely. So, if you, or Kirishima, or anyone else tries to pull this vigilante stunt… I will freeze you solid before you can take a single step. We will not make this worse."
The class stared in absolute shock. This was not the quiet, aloof Todoroki they knew. This was a leader.
Momo watched him, her heart suddenly hammering in her chest. His stance, his unwavering conviction, his absolute faith… he was so… decisive. So strong. 'He looks so cool when he acts like that. Wow.' She caught herself staring, a deep blush rising to her cheeks, and she quickly looked away.
Before Izuku could form another argument, the television in the corner of the room, which had been playing silently, suddenly blared with an "EMERGENCY BROADCAST" alert.
The U.A. press conference had begun.
They watched, fascinated, as Principal Nezu, Aizawa, and Vlad King sat at a table, facing a blinding sea of flashing cameras and shouting reporters. "...we have been made aware that one of our students, Katsuki Bakugo, was targeted and kidnapped…" "...are you saying U.A. is incapable of protecting its students?" "...what about the brutal killing of the villain Muscular by another student? Is U.A. training killers now?"
Aizawa leaned into the microphone, his voice a low, tired growl. "I apologize for the anxiety we have caused. We are working with the police to resolve this matter. Regarding the other incident, a villain was eliminated after he had critically injured three students and was in the process of murdering a fourth. The student who intervened acted decisively to neutralize a lethal threat. That is all we will say on that matter."
His words, a cold, hard defense of Akaza's actions, stunned the class.
Nezu finished the conference with a calm, practiced bow. "We are heroes. We will not be cowed. We are moving. We will recover our student."
The broadcast ended, leaving the class in a stunned silence.

That same night. Kamino Ward, Yokohama.
The city was a mix of lights and shadows. On a rooftop overlooking a seedy, run-down bar, the pro-hero strike team had gathered. All Might, Endeavor, Best Jeanist, Gran Torino, and several others stood ready, a collection of the nation's greatest power.
"The target is inside," All Might said, his voice a low rumble. "We breach on my signal."
Miles away, on the roof of a dark, silent factory, a different kind of hero waited.
Akaza was there, his black costume blending perfectly with the night. His Compass Wave was active, pulsing, feeling the layout of the building beneath him. He could feel them. The low, buzzing battle spirits of several small-time thugs. The twisted, chaotic presence of Dabi. The nervous, scratchy energy of Shigaraki. And under it all, chained to a chair, was a furious, explosive, and terrified battle spirit that he knew better than anyone.
Katsuki Bakugo.
He heard the distant, muffled crump of an explosion.
The heroes begin the assault on the bar. The distraction had begun.
Akaza stood, his gauntlets glinting in the moonlight, and looked at the factory below. His mission was clear.
"Hang in there, buddy."
