The moment the image of the grey heron appeared in Victor's mind, he could feel a foreign consciousness vying for control, but thanks to the Mind Ward and the Wakebrew, the consciousness's influence on him was significantly reduced.
He could then feel his body changing: his clothes and accessories gradually melted into his skin, gray-blue feathers began to sprout from his body, and his bones began to shift with a cracking sound. At the same time, he could faintly feel his body shrinking.
"No!"
"Not yet!"
Victor knew that if things continued this way, he would indeed successfully transform into an Animagus, but it would be far from the goal he was trying to achieve. So, he had to find a way to temporarily stop the transformation.
Victor's eyes instantly turned purplish-red, and the Origin spell activated. The magical structure of the Animagus transformation appeared before his eyes. He didn't need to drastically alter the magical structure; he just needed to temporarily cut off the magic runes used for magic transmission and transformation, so that the magic power flowing into his body wouldn't leak out, and he could also pause the transformation process.
As Victor modified the magic runes of the Animagus transformation, his transformation was put on hold. Although the physical changes had stopped, the process of the Animagus absorbing magic power was not over. The magic-gathering circle began to spin wildly, creating a massive magical storm and a violent gale all around.
The storm clouds in the night sky began to subtly form a huge vortex as a massive amount of magic power gathered, and an immense amount of magic power was continuously pouring into Victor's body.
Ten kilometers away at Hogwarts Castle, the members of the Fairy Tail Guild immediately felt the terrifying surge of magic power. In order to learn magic circles, sensing raw magic power was the most fundamental step. Although the members of Fairy Tail were only beginners, the massive amount of magic power that Victor had gathered for his transformation was enough for them to sense it.
"What's going on? Where is all this terrifying magic power coming from?!"
In the Hogwarts dungeons, Harry and Ron looked in the direction of the huge magical surge with horrified expressions. This amount of magic power made them feel like they were suffocating, like a giant meteor that could blot out the sky was hanging over their heads, threatening to crash down at any moment.
"Victor! It's Victor!" Hermione immediately thought of the most likely person involved. "The storm… the timing! That's it, the storm!"
"Hermione, is the Guild Master doing this?!" Harry turned around and asked curiously.
"It must be him!" Hermione replied indignantly. "I knew he was acting strangely at the Astronomy Tower this evening. He was practicing to be an Animagus!"
"Animagus? The advanced Transfiguration that lets you turn into an animal? Practicing that can cause this big of a commotion?!" Ron was shocked.
Their own Head of House was an Animagus who could turn into a tabby cat, so the little lions of Gryffindor were more or less familiar with the spell, but they had never heard of the Animagus spell causing such a huge stir!
Hermione had no idea what was happening on Victor's side, but when she thought of his incredible power, she felt that it all made perfect sense. So, without any hesitation, she began to walk quickly out of the dungeons, saying with a hint of excitement, "I'm going to go see!"
Harry and Ron exchanged glances and quickly followed her.
At the same time, the other members of Fairy Tail also sensed the massive amount of magic power from the magic-gathering circle. Curious, they, as if in telepathy, began to fly out of Hogwarts Castle one after another.
Meanwhile, five other people had already Apparated to a location not far from Victor. Victor had previously given The Basic Principles of Magic Circles and Rune Carving to Dumbledore as a reward for the latter giving him the Philosopher's Stone.
Dumbledore, after getting Victor's permission, had then taught the book's contents to the four Heads of House. So, the moment something strange happened on Victor's side, Dumbledore and the four Heads of House arrived immediately.
In front of them, as the magic-gathering circle continued to operate, the storm clouds in the sky had formed a gigantic funnel. Countless bolts of lightning tore through the air and the ground, and the roar of thunder was deafening and earth-shattering. Large swaths of the forest were set ablaze, only to be extinguished by the hurricane and heavy rain. The entire area looked like a scene from the apocalypse.
"What in Merlin's beard is happening?" Professor Sprout stared at the scene in shock. She had no idea what was causing this.
Because Dumbledore and the other Heads of House had only sensed a massive amount of magic power and arrived here, they couldn't see Victor, who was in the center of the storm, due to the heavy wind, flying dust, and stones, coupled with it being nighttime. So far, they had no idea what the source of this sudden surge of magic was.
And it was then that Fawkes, who had been sent to investigate, broke through the turbulence and flew back. Dumbledore, receiving the information from the phoenix, looked at the center of the storm with a serious expression and said, "Victor is preparing to transform into a magical creature Animagus!"
"What?!" Professor McGonagall instantly gasped. "That's too dangerous! Even a regular Animagus requires a powerful will to resist a beast's instincts, let alone a magical creature!"
"If he's not careful, Dreyar will turn into a monster that is neither human nor beast!"
She remembered that when she had just mastered the Animagus spell, after transforming into a tabby cat, she often had trouble resisting the temptation to catch mice and eat dried fish.
As an Animagus and a Transfiguration expert, she instinctively believed that anyone who would attempt to transform into a magical creature was sure to fail. After all, the inability to become a magical creature Animagus had always been an ironclad rule in the wizarding world.
However, a similar theory, that "wizards are unable to complete a magical creature Animagus transformation due to a lack of magic power," had actually been proposed a long time ago.
