Chapter 112 - Dumbledore's Anxiety

As soon as the words left his mouth, the Ravenclaws in the classroom looked at Victor and instinctively nodded. But they quickly began to shake their heads wildly in denial like bobbleheads.

In their hearts, the Ravenclaws both revered and feared Victor; he was no different from a Dark Lord. Heaven knows how he tormented them in Defense Against the Dark Arts class every day.

Since it was possible to be resurrected after dying in the illusions, Victor would set the pain receptors in the illusions to double or higher during practical lessons to prevent the Ravenclaws from becoming desensitized to the fear of death.

He even had a box of moth larvae prepared for good measure. If any Ravenclaw dared to slack off during a practical lesson, he would make them try the taste of his childhood memories!

A little while later, Sybill, who had made the prophecy, slowly came to. She stood up groggily, clutching her head, and looked around at the students staring at her. She then smiled and greeted everyone, "Oh, hello, children! What happened?"

"..."

Not long after class, the prophecy Sybill had made about Victor quickly spread from one person to ten, and from ten to a hundred, gradually becoming a topic of gossip among the Hogwarts students.

Meanwhile, at the Fairy's Abode, the Fairy Tail Guildhouse, Hermione listened to Victor recount the events of Divination class that morning and immediately commented with disdain:

"It's complete nonsense!"

"Divination is utterly illogical. She's just talking rubbish and fooling the students!"

"Compared to Divination, I think studying Ancient Runes is far more practical!"

"Forecasting the future with a tool like Divination is indeed a very nebulous thing," Victor said with a laugh. "But since this branch of magic exists, it must have a foundation and a reason for its existence."

"So you believe it? I've heard you complain more than once that Dumbledore puts too much faith in this so-called prophecy!"

"I did say that," Victor didn't deny it. "But prophecies are a matter of belief; they exist if you believe in them and don't if you don't. If you believe in it, you can easily be manipulated by the prophecy. But if you don't believe in it, many people will spend their days in fear and anxiety, worrying about what they'll regret in the future.

"For example, if Voldemort had dismissed Sybill's prophecy, he might not have gone to Godric's Hollow and wouldn't have been killed by Harry's mother. As another example, if Dumbledore hadn't believed in Sybill's prophecy, he wouldn't have foolishly waited for Harry for eleven years. He wouldn't even have been able to find the Horcruxes, despite knowing that Voldemort wasn't dead. So, in the end, it's best to just listen to prophecies and not take them to heart. What's most important is to be true to yourself."

As he spoke, his gaze suddenly became teasing. "By the way, are you saying you don't like Divination because you can't understand the logic in the textbook?"

Victor could tell exactly why Hermione disliked Divination.

Hermione had a very clever mind; this was her strength, but also her limitation.

As a girl who valued logical thinking, she was undoubtedly a standout among her peers in memory, analysis, logic, and getting to the heart of a problem.

But at the same time, Hermione's meticulous mind was like a magnifying glass. While it allowed information and strict logic to be focused to the greatest extent possible, it also prevented her from observing things beyond that focus.

To put it simply, she lacked the kind of boundless imagination required for Divination, so she couldn't understand subjects that lacked a clear logical framework. In Sybill's words, Hermione's condition was what she would call having a narrow Inner Eye.

In contrast, Luna's mind was very expansive, which allowed her to see and understand many things that transcended common sense. So, Hermione, whose thoughts had been seen through by Victor, was immediately mortified and shouted, "I am not, I did not, don't talk nonsense!"

"Hahahaha…" Victor burst out laughing.

.....

Sybill's prophecy spread throughout Hogwarts, but while the students took it as a joke, Dumbledore was anxiously pacing back and forth in his office.

Sybill Trelawney was the great-great-granddaughter of the true seer, Cassandra Trelawney. Although Cassandra's talent had been greatly weakened as it was passed down through the generations, Sybill had actually inherited a talent far stronger than anyone believed.

While she usually acted like a fraud and enjoyed making prophecies of doom and disaster in front of gullible students, a prophecy made in an unconscious state, like today's, often meant that her innate talent had been triggered without her being aware of it.

This rarely happened, but when it did, it meant that the events of the prophecy would surely come to pass. Those who understood this knew that this talent was terrifying and easily coveted by wicked people. This was why Dumbledore, against all objections, insisted on restarting the unnecessary Divination class and keeping Sybill at Hogwarts.

On one hand, it was to protect the descendant of a seer, and on the other, he hoped she would make more genuine prophecies in the future, which would allow him to prepare for bad things in advance.

And today, Sybill's prophecy about Victor was very unfriendly and different from before. No matter how difficult to understand a prophecy Sybill had made in the past, she could at least say three clear, complete sentences. But today's was only fragmented words. This was a sign that Victor, a being who defied all logic, was completely beyond her abilities. She couldn't bear the consequences of fully revealing the prophecy.

Words like "disaster" and "destruction," combined with Victor's own immense power and his persistent belief in overthrowing pure-blood supremacy, inevitably led Dumbledore to a wide array of conclusions.

After careful consideration, Dumbledore decided to immediately go and see someone. A person who also possessed the gift of prophecy.

"Fawkes!" Dumbledore called the phoenix's name. A melodious cry rang out, and the phoenix's flames instantly enveloped Dumbledore. The man and the phoenix instantly vanished from the office.
