As soon as Victor entered the Divination classroom, the Ravenclaws stood up happily and greeted him, "Lord!"
"Don't mind me, I'm just here to audit the class!" Victor said, gesturing with his hand. The Hufflepuffs next to them were not surprised by Victor's arrival. All the students at Hogwarts knew that Victor had a cloning spell that allowed him to be in different classrooms at the same time.
Class time came, and Sybill Trelawney slowly entered the classroom. She was very thin with messy hair, wore a pair of large, round-rimmed glasses, and had countless chains and beads hanging around her neck. Her overall demeanor made her seem a bit eccentric, like a fraudulent street-side seer.
She was even crazier and more illogical than Luna in her behavior.
Victor had once heard that since Sybill had come to Hogwarts, she would predict the death of one student every year, but so far, none of the students she named had died.
Because of this, Professor McGonagall disliked her colleague very much. She thought Sybill was a fraud who liked to pretend to be a seer, and that letting her teach students was a waste of time. She had always strongly opposed offering Divination and often argued with Sybill over trivial matters.
In the classroom, Sybill did not notice Victor, who was sitting among the Ravenclaws. As usual, she sat in a chair and began her opening monologue for the class:
"Welcome, my dear children!"
"Here, you will have the opportunity to explore the exquisite art of Divination."
"You will learn whether you possess a special kind of sight!"
After speaking, she stood up from her chair, but she accidentally bumped the table, nearly knocking over a black copper cauldron that was placed on it. She quickly righted the cauldron and continued with a slightly embarrassed expression:
"In today's class, we will focus on Tasseomancy, the art of telling the future from tea leaves!"
"Now, everyone, please exchange your teacups with the person sitting opposite you."
As soon as she finished speaking, the students in the classroom began to exchange their teacups with each other with great interest.
"Please tell me, what do you all see in your teacups?"
"Remember, just as the truth is always hidden in darkness, the tea leaves in the cup are like sentences in a book, waiting for a person with the ability to interpret them."
"First, you must open your minds and broaden your horizons!"
As she said this, Sybill walked up to a Ravenclaw student. She held the student's head and peered into his teacup before asking, "Child, tell me! What do you see in the teacup?"
The student looked down at the teacup, which only contained a cold clump of tea leaves. He looked and looked, and after a long time, he couldn't make anything out of it, so he was about to say that he didn't know. But when he looked up and saw Sybill's expectant expression, he swallowed his words.
Looking down at the teacup again, he forced himself to say something that resembled the shape of the tea leaves: "Professor, it looks like a clump of seaweed!"
"Oh, my dear, then you must be careful near water, for it may bring you misfortune!" Sybill said, then walked to another student without looking back.
The Ravenclaw student who had been 'cursed' with this prediction looked confused. He looked down at the tea leaves in his cup again, his neck and face squeezing together to form a double chin. He subconsciously picked up his water cup to take a sip, but to his surprise, he choked on the first gulp. He immediately looked back and forth between the teacup and his water cup with a shocked and bewildered expression. He was both surprised and in disbelief.
By this time, Sybill had already walked up to another Ravenclaw student. With the same eccentric demeanor, she looked at the student and said, "Child, tell me! What do you see?!"
Compared to the previous student, Cho Chang's imagination was much more active. The tea leaves in her teacup were a dark, inky clump, and even the leftover tea was like ink. So, she said, "Professor, I think it looks like a giant squid soaking in ink!"
This answer caused a burst of laughter in the classroom, and Victor, who was sitting nearby, couldn't help but laugh as well.
That's right, the teacup in Cho Chang's hand was Victor's. He was now watching Sybill with great interest, wanting to hear what kind of prediction this rare seer would make about him.
To be honest, he was a bit interested in the power of prophecy. In the original book, although Sybill was mostly just spouting nonsense, bragging, and being good at some prophetic tricks, she did make a few genuine prophecies, and this ability came entirely from her innate talent.
When Sybill heard Cho Chang's answer, her eyes drifted, and she walked over, taking the teacup and looking down at it. Instantly, she looked abnormally horrified. She looked at Victor, who was sitting next to Cho Chang, with a look of terror, then her eyes rolled back into her head, and she suddenly fell to the ground, her body beginning to convulse.
Victor raised an eyebrow at the sight, while the students around them looked at each other, not quite sure what to do.
After a moment, Sybill finally stopped convulsing. Her eyes were completely white, and her body was stiffly arched on the floor. She then began to mutter, "The… the… the truth will be… revealed by… a person of contempt… a follower… of… will bring… disaster… destruction…"
The sentence was incomplete. Everyone present only heard Sybill say a few fragmented words, and they had no idea what she was trying to say. Everyone subconsciously looked at Victor, who was sitting not far away. They had all seen that Sybill had only become like this after looking at his prophetic teacup, which meant that the words she had just said were a prophecy for Victor.
Facing the students' curious gazes, Victor just awkwardly scratched his head and said, "This is troublesome. Why do these words describe me as some kind of doomsday demon king? Do I look like a demon king to you?"
