Chapter 121 - The Basilisk Played Like a Fiddle

Everyone held their heads and gasped in astonishment. They had heard that the Basilisk was big, but they never expected it to be this big! Its entire body was already almost as tall as the Hogwarts Astronomy Tower!

Meanwhile, in the Ravenclaw common room, the only one with a view of the Black Lake, the students were also staring blankly at the Basilisk, which was almost at the same height as them, and were completely speechless.

"What is that?"

"I don't know…"

"Then why are you pinching me?"

"I just wanted to make sure I wasn't dreaming!"

The students were all in disbelief.

But in reality, the Basilisk was not as powerful and ferocious as the students imagined. Upon closer look, it could be seen that the Basilisk was screaming in agony, and blood was constantly gushing from its eyes. Because its eyes were gouged out, it could only frantically flap the fins on both sides of its body, trying to find a way to escape.

Draco, who was standing on the lakeshore, saw that the Basilisk's head seemed to be heading in their direction, and his face immediately turned pale. He shouted, "It's coming this way!" and immediately hid behind Dumbledore.

The other Fairy Tail members also wisely made the same choice as Draco, seeking the protection of the stronger wizard. Of course, except for Luna, but she was quickly pulled away by Zoe who had come back for her.

Dumbledore stood on the rocky shore, looking at the huge figure flying towards him in the distance, his Elder Wand already at the ready.

But just as the Fairy Tail members were about to run, a green light suddenly flared in the depths of the Black Lake, and an abnormally thick arm burst out of the water, yanking the Basilisk down from mid-air and smashing it hard into the water. The lake instantly became turbulent, and huge ripples began to spread.

Victor burst out of the Black Lake and hovered in mid-air. He looked at the Basilisk below him that was constantly thrashing in the water, waved his wand, and the owner of the arm immediately rose from the middle of the lake. It was a giant Golem made entirely of hardened bedrock.

"Wow, what is that?!"

The crowd on the shore and the students in the common rooms all let out the same exclamation.

The Golem was holding the Basilisk in mid-air like a worm. Then, with a gentle wave of Victor's wand, the Golem's wrist began to spin in circles, and the Basilisk was immediately subjected to rapid centrifugal force with its tail as the axis. Its triangular head with the colorful feathers constantly smashed into the water at high speed, splashing a huge amount of water, and the powerful centrifugal force also caused blood to constantly gush from its eye sockets.

For the first ten seconds, the Basilisk was still able to scream in pain and struggle, trying to use its powerful muscle strength to break free from the Golem's grasp. But after a dozen seconds, perhaps because its brain was constantly being deprived of blood, the Basilisk gradually fell into a coma. The entire snake hung limply from the Golem's hand as if it were dead.

"You're no fun at all!" Victor complained, and with a flick of his wrist, he threw the entire Basilisk onto the shore.

"Victor Dreyar! Are you trying to kill us?!" Hermione looked at the huge black shadow approaching from the sky, a few veins popping up on her forehead as she shouted angrily. That Victor actually threw the Basilisk at them!

"Woah!!! It's going to crash!"

"Professor! Do something!"

The Fairy Tail members shivered in fear. But Hermione, looking at the approaching black shadow in the sky, suddenly had an idea she wanted to try. So she suddenly raised her wand, and a blue light instantly lit up. Intricate runes began to be drawn and connected in mid-air, gradually forming a complete magic circle.

Cedric, who was next to her, also wanted to give it a try, but his Skyscraper had very few physical attack methods, so he chose to obediently hide behind Dumbledore.

"Heavenly Breath!"

The Sky Dragon Slayer Magic was successfully cast, and a powerful gust of wind hit the Basilisk's body directly. But unfortunately, it had no effect.

Hermione, who had just learned Sky Dragon Slayer Magic, was not yet at the level where she could move a Basilisk of this size. The gust of wind she just created could at best blow a Puffskein away.

So, seeing that her spell couldn't even make the Basilisk change direction, Hermione withdrew her wand in disappointment. At the same time, she wasn't worried about the black shadow that was about to crash down on them, because she believed Dumbledore would intervene!

And sure enough, a moment later, the Basilisk suddenly stopped a few meters from the ground, and its huge body hovered in mid-air. Dumbledore had cast a Hover Charm to stop the Basilisk and placed it on an empty patch of ground beside them.

It was at this moment that Victor, who had witnessed Hermione's actions, suddenly couldn't help but laugh as he puffed out his cheeks. He then quickly walked over and asked,

"Pfft… Hermione, what were you thinking? Were you trying to blow the Basilisk away with a beginner's Sky Magic, or were you just trying to give it a massage?"

"Could you tell me what goes on in that little brain of yours?"

"Hmm?!"

He even leaned in his ear mockingly. Hearing Victor mocking her, Hermione immediately became furious and started swinging her fists, shouting, "And you! How could you throw a Basilisk that big at us?!"

"No, no, I didn't!" Victor caught the little witch's wrists with one hand, but as he recalled Hermione's serious expression, the muscles around his lips began to twitch. "Pfft! Hahaha~ I'm sorry, I just can't help it!"

"Victor Dreyar, I'm going to kill you!!!" Hermione was so mad her face turned red as Victor accidentally spit on her. At this moment, she felt her blood pressure soaring and knew she had to beat him up to calm down.

The others present, seeing Victor bullying their vice-master again, all silently shook their heads, suddenly feeling as if they had been fed something that filled them up.

Their attention then shifted to the Basilisk on the side. Everyone walked up to it curiously, but only Luna, Zoe, and Dumbledore were carefully studying the Basilisk.

Although Dumbledore wasn't a magizoologist, he did have the famous achievement of discovering the twelve uses of dragon blood, so he did have some knowledge of magical creatures. To be honest, in all his years, this was the first time he had seen a magical creature of such an exaggerated size.

At the same time, Newt Scamander had already arrived at Hogwarts from Dorset via several Portkeys. Because the Portkey's destination was set at the Hogwarts train station, Newt had to take a small boat to the castle. Just as he passed the Cave of Wonders, a huge figure came into his sight.

"Merlin's beard!!! What is that?!" Newt stared at the huge Golem in the middle of the lake in a daze. It had been so many years since he had been back. Had Hogwarts changed this much? Had their financial problems been solved? Was it really that extravagant to erect a statue in the middle of the Black Lake?

Slowly approaching the Golem with many questions in mind, Newt suddenly realized that this giant was not a statue, but a "living" wood giant. He looked up at the magnificent body of the Golem with his mouth agape. All kinds of colorful flowers and plants blossomed on the surface of the Golem's body, and countless birds were circling around it, chirping, a scene full of life.

It wasn't until he had completely passed the Golem that Newt finally came back to his senses. He hadn't expected that after all these years, his alma mater could still give him the same shock as when he was a student.

He was now a bit eager to go back to the castle he remembered and take a good look around. But before Newt could calm down from his excitement, the huge figure of the Basilisk on the lakeshore gave him an even bigger shock.

"Is… is that a Basilisk?!" Newt turned his head and saw the Basilisk lying on the lakeshore in the distance. He had been a magizoologist for seventy or eighty years now. He might not have traveled to every country in the world, but he had been to ninety-nine percent of them.

But he had never seen such a huge magical creature before! Not even the Manticore that had nearly killed him and his brother Theseus Scamander in the German Erkstag Prison when he was young was as big as this Basilisk.

You have to know that the Manticore's stinger alone could poke a hole in an adult that was almost big enough to cut them in half, and the amount of venom it spewed out at once was enough to fill an entire bathtub.

Newt looked at the Basilisk's body, and he was so excited that he started swinging his fists. He quickly took out a dark bundle from his suitcase and shouted to the boat below, "Please, can you go a little faster?!"

With that, he threw the bundle into the water. A moment later, the small boat under him seemed to have been turbo-charged. Its speed increased several times, and it quickly sped toward the Hogwarts castle.

And Hermione, who was bickering with Victor, suddenly saw something on the lake in the distance that was quickly heading towards them, so she subconsciously asked, "What is that?"

"Huh?!" Victor looked over and saw a white-bearded old man with a suitcase in his hand who had already arrived at the lakeshore in a small boat. As soon as Newt got off the boat, he completely ignored everyone present and ran like a madman to the Basilisk.
