Evelyn sat in her small office, tucked away in a quiet corner of the admin wing, her desk a chaotic sprawl of files, folders, and neon sticky notes, a steaming coffee mug perched dangerously close to her computer, the faint aroma of dark roast curling through the air. Her brown hair was pulled back in a tight ponytail, her glasses perched low on her nose as she typed, her red nails clicking on the keys like a machine gun, each tap sharp and rhythmic.

She was reassigned after Thorne's scandalous fall from grace, her sharp mind and quick fingers keeping her indispensable despite the whispers that trailed her like shadows. The office was cramped but tidy, the walls lined with cheesy motivational posters, one about "Teamwork Makes the Dream Work" with a soaring eagle, another with a cat clinging to a branch, urging her to "Hang in There."
