Remark: [Host has the strength of a child]
-----------------------------------------------------------
'What's the hell is up with this remark. I think this guy has something against me. Plus, there's no way I'm that weak… right?' choosing to ignore the system's remark he focused on his attributes.
'Wow, I knew goblins were ugly but this negative charm value really pinches me in the heart. I can't say much about my attributes but they do seem pretty low; but looking at the experience bar beside my level, it's safe to say I would gain exp to upgrade my level… but how?'
Noticing a bug not far from him, he reaches out and squashes it
Leaf insect killed +0
'Okay, I gain exp by killing things' nodding in understanding as he reads the notification for the successful kill, he continues to observe his stats
'A bloodline? And it's locked? Could this tribe of goblins be special? That would explain why they seem smarter than regular monsters'
Hmm? Vaalk suddenly pauses, forgetting to even breathe as he stared at his talent. 'In… Infinite Evolution?! That's insane! Doesn't that mean I can keep evolving to different forms? Even breaking the limits of a Goblin? This is broken, too broken.'
Noticing how animated he was acting, he hurriedly stopped himself and took a peek at the shaman, luckily, he was focused on his herbs that he didn't see. 'I should calm myself; I probably let out an embarrassing display just now, I'm lucky I wasn't outside, I would have been laughed at. Let's see what kind of skills I have for now'
'Skills… Analysis, that gives me the ability to read specific information about others; wow that sounds pretty useful. Night-Vision, I guess this is a regular goblin skill, nothing fancy. Gluttony? Is this related to my talent? If it is that would answer the question of how the evolution would work, Let's try it out'
Stretching his hand out to the insect he killed earlier, he subconsciously willed his gluttony skill to absorb the insect and it turned into a stream of energy that flowed into his body through his hand
Leaf insect absorbed – evolution points +0
[New stat added to stat menu]
Upon reading the system notification, he noticed a new stat had been added to the menu below his talent, it read
Evolution Point: 0/100
'So, using my gluttony skill to absorb other beings gives me points that would push me towards my next evolution, pretty straight-forward. Why does it feel like I'm forgetting something'
"Oh no, my food! Ouch!!" he exclaimed upon noticing his porridge had gone cold which was followed by another ladle to his head… again. The shaman had nice aim and that shut Vaalk up immediately
'How many ladles does this old man even have?' Mumbling as he rubbed his head while he ate, he tried to plan his next move.
'First, I need to find out more about where I am and how to leave the village and hunt beasts so I can grow stronger'
"Uhm sir…"
"Just call me shaman"
"Okay, Shaman can I ask you a few questions?"
The shaman about to say no and tell him to buzz off if he's done with his meal changed his mind once he saw the look in the boy's eyes
"Ugh, fine. Ask whatever you want" the Shaman rolled his eyes
Snickering to himself, Vaalk felt that even old goblins couldn't shy away from the puppy dog eyes of a young and handsome goblin like himself.
Unknown to Vaalk, the shaman only changed his mind because the display really scared him, and he knew the boy would only continue to bug him and wouldn't let him rest.
"Great!" Vaalk said, straightening his back and looking a lot more serious than usual, creating a solemn atmosphere. "Where exactly am I?" He asked
The Shaman was speechless. "What do you mean? You're in my house obviously. How damaged is your head?"
Vaalk almost fell over, the Shaman's response threw out every sense of solemnity that had formed in an instant.
