TYLER'S POV
Kiera raised an eyebrow the moment she caught him approaching.
"Is this the part where you say 'You should see the other guy'?"
Tyler gritted his teeth. "I got him bad." He felt high and giddy from the fight.
Kiera leered. "He got you bad too. You almost lost a tooth."
Tyler worked his jaws. The left side hurt. The throb in his right eye promised swelling and darkness. The bastard knew how to throw a mean punch, he'd give him that. Tyler had retaliated in kind, but it still irked him that he'd not delivered anything memorable. Unlike the bloody lip and potential black eye he was nursing.
Kiera siddled closer to him. "I take my eye off you for one minute and you throw yourself into a roadside brawl."
He cut her a reproachful glance. "Quit that tone. He attacked me. I fought back."
"Over a certain puny maiden, I suppose." She added casually. Just another chilly evening at the capital of the continent.
