More snakes hissed and squiggled around his boots as he entered the darkness. There was no guessing with her. An oddity he was yet to understand. Best be careful.
The chandelier farthest from the door snapped to life and there she was. Red hair cascading down her slim shoulders. Scarlett red dress almost glowing under the light. She looked…unrecognizable. Without all the coats and scarves. Like the night of his coronation. Attractive. Captivating. Dangerous.
She brought up a flute of wine to her bloodred lips for a sip. "I helped myself with your champagne. Hope you don't mind."
Kiera snarled. "You're either foolishly brave or bravely foolish to show your face, witch."
A smile touched her small, heart-shaped face. "Witch." She rolled it over her tongue along with the wine. " I guess that's a step up from bitch and wench."
Her emerald eyes were strangely bright as they fixed on Tyler. She curtsied. "Alpha Tyler."
