Chapter 20: Training
Three days later. A young man strolled down the streets
of Blackstone City . He was dressed in a black robe, his long, silver-blue hair flowing down his back. He wore a half-face mask, revealing only a pair of blue-gold eyes. Standing about 1.7 meters tall, he was none other than Xiao Ling, who had left Canaan Academy for training. Suddenly , a boy, seemingly about eleven or twelve, dashed through the crowd, seemingly avoiding something, but his movements were deliberately and unintentionally colliding with Xiao Ling. Bang! Before he could even get within a meter of them, the boy was violently flung back. His chest, as if struck by a powerful blow, caved slightly. He coughed up a few mouthfuls of blood, struggled briefly, and collapsed to the ground. Without prompt treatment, this injury could be life-threatening. Several small purses also fell from his chest, a testament to his status. Xiao Ling retracted his clasping hand, his gaze cold and indifferent. With a slight suction, he gathered several bags of gold coins into his hand, storing them in Twenty-Four Bridges, Moonlit Night. In the shadows of the street, a few obscure gazes gradually retreated. It was now three days since Xiao Ling left Canaan Academy. Because he had used the "camouflage" ability of the 100,000-year-old Blue Silver Emperor's torso, he had consistently simulated the strength of a five-star Fighting Master. On his way to Blackstone City, those above Grand Fighting Master looked down on him, while those below him dared not provoke him. Those who did challenge Xiao Ling were all Fighting Masters and Grand Fighting Masters, and they were all outwitted by him. He still remembered two five-star Grand Fighting Masters tracking him down. After they reached a small alley, they surrounded him. Xiao Ling feigned surrender, waited for one to approach, then ambushed one, then single-handedly defeated the other in a few rounds. Both men were stunned, and Xiao Ling simply replied, "You two are not bad. You can continue to be brothers within the Myriad Souls Banner." Then he took them into the Myriad Souls Banner. Entering a rather swanky-looking hotel, Xiao Ling walked towards the front desk and said to the portly man behind the desk, "Book a room." The man, who had been taking a nap behind the desk, noticed someone entering the inn and carefully examined Xiao Ling. A golden glint flashed in his small eyes. Xiao Ling casually tossed out a small purse filled with bulging gold coins, which made a jingling sound. Greed flared in the portly man's eyes. He picked up the purse, weighed it, and then looked at the ring in Xiao Ling's hand and the belt on his body. His smile grew even more greedy, but he said with a hint of disdain, "This is the best hotel in the city. This little money isn't enough." "At least ten more... no, twenty more gold coins." Xiao Ling, his eyes lowered slightly under his black robe, didn't react at all, and tossed in another purse. Seeing Xiao Ling's generous demeanor, the portly man, as if he had spotted a fat sheep, became even more enthusiastic. "Alright, sir, wait a moment. I'll arrange a room for you right away." He also secretly lamented that the amount he had just given him was still insufficient, but he could make a small profit tonight. A mere fighting master possessed two storage items—definitely worth a fortune. Entering his room, Xiao Ling surveyed it. While not particularly luxurious, the furniture, tables, chairs, and beds were quite complete. He sat cross-legged on the bed and retrieved a wanted poster from the Twenty-Four Bridges Moonlit Night. A closer look revealed a portrait of the portly man downstairs, along with some basic information.
Tang Ritian, a master of hammer-based fighting techniques, has reached the level of an eight-star Grand Master. He owns an inn in Blackstone City and frequently assassinates its patrons.
Putting the wanted poster back on his belt, Xiao Ling muttered to himself, "A true hunter always appears as prey. I hope to end this battle tonight, a perfect opportunity to test the power of the fighting technique I've previously created."
Without further thought, he sat cross-legged, formed a training hand seal, and began to cultivate. His body began to absorb Dou Qi, his soul sensing constantly monitoring the surroundings.
It was three o'clock in the morning, the moon was dim and the stars were sparse.
While cultivating, Xiao Ling spotted a figure approaching his room.
Focusing his soul sensing, he saw it was Tang Ritian, the man downstairs. He held a jet-black hammer in his hand, his eyes filled with greed.
Seeing this, Xiao Ling quickly withdrew from his training, first using his "Disguise" skill to conceal his presence, then summoned the Fiery Wolf Beast Fire and the Dark Sea Dragon Beast Fire, merging them into one. When their energies reached a balance, a strange flaming lotus formed.
His spiritual awareness was focused outside the door. Just as Tang Ritian opened it, Xiao Ling unleashed a Buddha's Wrath Lotus towards him.
Feeling the immense energy surge towards him, Tang Ritian swiftly swung his hammer, shouting, "How could you be so strong? Take my ultimate skill, the Great Sunni Hammer!" Unfortunately, before he could swing his hammer, the fire lotus had already landed on him, exploding in front of him. Fortunately, he activated his Dou Qi armor just in time, otherwise he would have been shattered to ash.
"Boom!"
A massive hole was blasted through the inn, and flames began to spread.
Xiao Ling had already jumped out the window and escaped unscathed, but Tang Ritian was hit in the face by the Buddha's Wrath Lotus. His arm was now bloodied and covered in burns.

Seeing Xiao Ling, unharmed, staring at him with indifference, Tang Ritian, regardless of his injuries, fled.
But Xiao Ling wasn't about to give him a chance. Spotting Tang Ritian, he rushed towards him.
Seeing Xiao Ling's Dou Qi armor, Tang Ritian knew he'd been ambushed. Seriously wounded, his escape was practically impossible. He shouted at Xiao Ling, "Young man, today's events are entirely my fault. I've served you like a slave. Please spare my life."
But his pleading eyes concealed deep hatred. He had sensed Xiao Ling was only a one-star Grand Master, and planned to wait for Xiao Ling to let his guard down before launching a surprise attack. With his eight-star Grand Master prowess, he was certain to succeed and kill him with a single blow.
But Xiao Ling didn't give him another chance. Using his Wind Chasing Steps, he quickly approached Tang Ritian and, facing his horrified gaze, launched a Red Flame Fist towards his heart. Though Tang Ritian raised his hammer to block, it held for two seconds before deflecting. As Tang Ritian stared in horror, Xiao Ling's fist pierced his chest.
Xiao Ling's battle principle was to take advantage of your weakness and kill you. He'd seen many villains die from talking too much, and Xiao Ling didn't want to be one of those brainless villains.
He retracted his fist, burned the blood off it with beast fire, took Tang Ritian's ring, stored his soul in the Myriad Souls Banner, and recorded the body with a crystal. Xiao Ling then donned a black robe and blended into the night.
