Chapter 391 - Chapter 391 : Urashiki’s attack

In the abandoned quarry more than ten kilometers south of Konoha's main gate, the landscape was littered with cracked boulders and scorched, spiraling pits—remnants of Boruto and Naruto's intense four-day training session.

Under the shade of a tree nearby, Sasuke sat quietly, having fully recovered his chakra after the rest period. Beside him, Jiraiya was scribbling furiously on a scroll, his cheeks flushed with excitement, occasionally glancing at the training with a wide grin. Sasuke, on the other hand, methodically wiped down his Kusanagi sword, calm and focused.

Suddenly, Sasuke's eyes narrowed as he sensed a ripple in the space around them. He gripped the hilt of the Kusanagi sword tightly and looked skyward. Lightning crackled along the blade, forming a sharp blue arc of energy.

"Be careful. He's coming," he warned coldly.

Jiraiya froze, immediately dropping his scroll and scanning the sky.

Boruto and Naruto, still catching their breath from their sparring match, stopped mid-move and followed Sasuke's gaze.

"Huh?" Naruto blinked. "What is it?"

A strange, pitch-black rift opened high in the air. From within it descended a figure—otherworldly in appearance.

Pale-skinned with long light-blue hair tied in a high ponytail, no eyebrows, two red dots marked his forehead, and two horn-like appendages curved from his head like shields. Despite his humanoid form, the chakra he emitted was vile and oppressive—radiating a primal, devouring hunger.

"As expected. I knew you two would show up here first," Urashiki said smoothly as he hovered in the air, his eyes locked on Boruto and Sasuke below. His tone was calm, almost cheerful, like greeting old friends.

Naruto, confused by the stranger, turned to Boruto. "Do you… know him?"

Boruto's expression hardened. "You could say that. But he's not a friend. He's one of the enemies I warned you about."

Urashiki's gaze settled on Naruto next, his lips curling.

"So, you're the Jinchūriki of the Nine-Tails. Good. Surrender yourself."

"All resistance is meaningless before the might of the Ōtsutsuki."

Without waiting for a response, Urashiki dove from the sky like a hawk, directly targeting Naruto.

Sasuke reacted instantly. He hurled the Kusanagi sword, lightning surging along its length, straight at the oncoming threat.

"Hmph," Urashiki sneered, "Do you really think ninjutsu works on me? All chakra is nothing but nourishment to an Ōtsutsuki."

But as the blade surged toward him, encased in blinding lightning, Urashiki's body suddenly dissolved into red paper cranes, narrowly avoiding the strike before reassembling midair.

"Cleverer than last time," he said. "But not by much."

Sasuke's left eye, hidden beneath his bangs, suddenly shifted—revealing the Rinnegan with six tomoe.

Amenotejikara. In a flash, Sasuke vanished and reappeared at the exact location where the Kusanagi had struck.

The sword had buried itself into the earth, still crackling with residual lightning. A taut steel wire, coiled around Sasuke's right hand, lit up. The metal glowed as it channeled the electric current, pulsing like a living artery.

"Lightning Style: Thunder Legend!"

Just as the lightning surged forth to engulf Urashiki, he dodged again—blinking out of existence and reappearing beside Sasuke, swinging his signature red fishing rod.

The hook latched onto the wire, aiming to drain Sasuke's chakra.

But Sasuke didn't flinch. He calmly flexed his pinky, severing the steel wire before Urashiki could steal anything.

A beat later—

"Fire Style: Toad Oil Flame Bullet!"

From Jiraiya's position, a massive blast of thick, khaki-colored toad oil surged forward. As it ignited mid-air, a blazing inferno erupted, lighting the quarry in a flash of white-orange flame that roared toward Urashiki.

Naruto and Boruto leapt aside to avoid the searing heat. Watching the blazing tide of fire, Naruto smirked.

"And you think you can take the Nine-Tails from me with this kind of power?"

"Better go take a bath and head to bed, old man."

But the smirk froze on Naruto's face the next second.

"…Uzumaki Naruto. Were you talking about me?"

Urashiki reappeared behind him without a sound, the hook of his fishing rod flashing crimson as it slashed toward Naruto's lower abdomen.

"Nine-Tailed Fox… I'll be taking it now."

Just before contact—

Boom!

Multiple chakra signatures burst into the battlefield.

Golden chakra chains shot through the air like whips, slamming into the fishing hook and knocking it away from Naruto. Urashiki was forced to retreat several steps, his face finally betraying a flicker of caution.

"What?! Who are you?!"

Three unexpected shinobi now stood between him and Naruto, exuding overwhelming chakra. The central figure had long, flowing black hair and sharp features—almost too perfect. Urashiki's instincts screamed at him; there was something dangerously familiar about this man.

Dozens of golden chains flared from behind Uzumaki Mito, two of which wrapped around Naruto and Boruto, yanking them to safety. The others lashed at Urashiki like striking serpents.

"You're the one trying to harm Kushina's child?"

Usually graceful and composed, Mito now looked utterly fearsome. Her crimson eyes burned with rage, and her chakra surged like a second Nine-Tails. She shielded Naruto and Boruto behind her with fierce protectiveness, her killing intent clear.

Naruto blinked up at the woman.

"Who are you…?"

Mito turned, her expression softening instantly. She gently placed her hands atop Naruto and Boruto's heads.

"Just call me Grandma, Naruto. I helped raise your mother when she was a child."

Naruto's eyes trembled, his throat tightening as his heart filled with unfamiliar warmth.

"…Yes. Grandma…"

"In that case, I guess you'll have to call me Grandpa."

A new voice cut in, strong and resolute.

Hashirama and Tobirama stepped forward, each placing a hand on Naruto's shoulders. Their once-weathered bodies now restored through Impure World Reincarnation, they emanated the presence of legends reborn.

"I'm technically your second grandfather," Hashirama said with a soft laugh.

"But more importantly…"

Their eyes sharpened—battle-ready, merciless.

"…Are you the one trying to rip the Nine-Tails out of this child?"

Hashirama's voice thundered across the battlefield.

"I will never forgive anyone who threatens the peace of the village or harms even a single one of my people!"

Tobirama's glare was icy.

"Anyone who endangers Konoha will be eliminated—no matter how far they run."

Uchiha Hikaru and Itachi stood to the side, watching the three titans of Konoha's past stand united. For a moment, they exchanged a silent glance.

"…Are we even needed here?" Hikaru muttered under his breath.

Urashiki took a step back, narrowing his eyes. Through the Rinnegan, he saw the truth of their bodies.

"Hmph. The dead… no matter how powerful, are still corpses."

His smirk returned, cruel and arrogant.

"I admit, the love you all show for this child is… touching."

"But it doesn't matter."

"Your strength, your emotions, your bonds—none of it compares to the power of an Ōtsutsuki."

"We are gods. You're just ants. At best… slightly stronger ants."
