Chapter 51 - "How to Train a Demon"

________________________________________________________________________________________________________

"Since we've decided… let's begin."

Eriri gave a small, quiet nod, hesitating before slipping off her jacket.

She clutched it to her chest like a shield, hiding the soft blush of skin underneath. Her voice trembled. "D-Do I… have to take off my shirt too?"

Her ears were already burning bright red.

Sure, he was a demon—But he was still a man.

Doing something like this… was way too embarrassing.

Edgar took a look around, frowned, and said, "Move the jacket. It's in the way."

At those words, Eriri flinched, then reluctantly lowered the bundle in her arms.

Seeing that, Edgar didn't waste time. He let a drop of fresh blood fall onto her bare skin.

The instant it touched, heat seared across her body and her pupils shrank.

Strange, glowing symbols flickered before her eyes and vanished in an instant.

Thump! Thump-thump!

Her heartbeat grew wild.It felt like something inside her was clawing to break free.

Edgar ignored her reaction, his gaze fixed instead on the glowing information that appeared before him:

Sawamura Spencer Eriri

Race: Demon.

Master: Edgar Lucifergus.

Level: LV9.

Skill: Demon's Brush.

Demon's Brush: Allows the user to turn imagination into reality through drawings.

Edgar's eyes lit up immediately. This skill… had some serious potential.

"What's this?"

Eriri, now fully transformed, stared at the strange brush in her hand. It looked perfectly ordinary—just like the ones she used for her own art—except the tip pulsed faintly with light.

"Demon's Brush," Edgar explained, handing over the written details.

"…Why does this feel like an MMO?" she muttered, scanning the sheet.

LV9.Not the lowest rank? No wonder her whole body felt like it had been supercharged.

A grin tugged at her lips. She wasn't hard to please—As long as she could walk down the street without getting splattered by a curse spirit, she was happy.

Then her gaze dropped to the skill description. Her eyes sparkled instantly.

"I love this skill."

She grabbed the brush, eager to test it, and began sketching in midair.

In seconds, a voluptuous, golden-haired beauty was outlined before her—Only to poof out of existence with a single pop.

"..." ×3

The silence was deafening.

"…What just happened?"

Had the description been a scam?

"Creating life is in the domain of gods," Edgar said after a pause. "Your skill might be able to do it someday… but you're far too weak right now."

"Oh, I see."

Eriri nodded, but her expression quickly turned curious and excited again.

"Master, how do I level up?"

Her eyes were practically sparkling, her whole face brimming with anticipation. She'd even started calling him Master without hesitation.

"Normally, you'd get experience from defeating enemies," Edgar said, giving her a playful head pat. His gaze gleamed. "But as my familiar… you have another, faster option."

"Really? What is it, Master?"

She looked up at him like a kitten waiting to be fed.

Meanwhile—

Watching from the side, Akemi Miyano's lips twitched. Her fists clenched on instinct.

Oh no.She wasn't about to let Eriri get ahead of her again.

She was the senior here! What the hell was happening?!

Edgar pulled something from his inventory—a "level breaker"—and set it down in front of Eriri.

"Eriri, the secret to rapid growth lies in this. Use it, and your level will soar."

Her face went crimson in an instant. She stumbled back, flustered. "M-Master, I just became a demon! Don't try to trick me!"

"I'm not tricking you," he replied seriously. "It's all true."

"Huh?"

Eriri's brain froze.

Who am I? Where am I?

If learning demons existed had shattered her worldview…This completely rewrote the universe.

This world was insane.

She forced herself to calm down, casually brushing her hair back and stammering, "W-Well… I just remembered I have… something to do. So… I'll be going now."

And with that, she bolted for the door, stiff as a wooden doll.

Tch, ran away?

Edgar shrugged. Whatever. She was already his familiar—where could she possibly escape to?

Akemi, on the other hand, saw the perfect opening. No Eriri. No other "cats" prowling around. This was once-in-a-lifetime.

She stepped forward with determination, her pace quick and deliberate.

Edgar: "…"That look… was she about to hit him?

"You—"

Before he could finish, Akemi leaned forward, reaching out her delicate hand.

Seeing her take the initiative, a faint smile spread across Edgar's face.

"So you want to get stronger too, Akemi… I'm glad."

He ruffled her hair gently. "But you know—gaining strength means enduring pain."

"I… know… Master."

Her gaze was unwavering.

Then—power surged through her body.

So this was how they'd grown stronger…Her whole being buzzed with energy, every cell burning with life. Her determination only deepened.

In moments, joy welled up and tears slipped free. She could feel herself growing stronger again.

Akemi Miyano.

Race: Demon.

Master: Edgar Lucifergus.

Level: LV11.

Skills: Demon Gunslinger, Demon Gun.

Demon Gunslinger: Born marksman with the ability to master any firearm with ease.

Demon Gun: Converts magic into magic bullets and fires them through the Demon Gun. The more skilled the magic, the faster the bullets; certain forms can also boost their power.

"Incredible—two levels in such a short time. Well done, Akemi."

His praise made her tail sway happily behind her.
