Chapter 105: The Seven Great Clans
"This child is as unforthcoming as ever," Mo Ya thought, touched by Bai Feng's intentions. He smiled wryly. "Let's go."
Bai Feng was startled. "Where to?"
"We've already explored this Soul Beast Forest, and there's no target the Master is looking for," Mo Ya said. "Didn't you say you wanted to acquire a spirit ring? This forest happens to have quite a few suitable Spirit Beasts."
A joyful smile appeared on Bai Feng's face, and the two disappeared from the mountaintop.
On another note, Qin Xuan's life returned to peace. He cultivated diligently every day, and in his leisure time at night, he didn't forget to pull Jing Ni and Ling Yuan to study "foreign languages." After nearly two months, his spirit power broke through to level seventy-six.
On the eve of the Sect Competition, only Qin Xuan, Nong Yu, and A Yan remained at home. After tidying up, he took a shower and walked out of the master bedroom to see Nong Yu teaching A Yan to speak.
Seeing him, she quickly got up and bowed. "Master Qin Xuan."
A Yan stretched out her short arms and called out, "Daddy, hug."
"Good girl," Qin Xuan smiled, hugging her and giving her a kiss on the cheek. "Nong Yu, let's go out for a walk. Spirit City must be very lively today."
"Okay," she nodded.
The roads in Spirit City were wide, paved with dusty ancient stones. As they walked, holding A Yan, Nong Yu couldn't help but exclaim, "A Titled Douluo can live for several centuries. This ancient city has stood for ten thousand years without decay. It's truly miraculous."
"Titled Douluo is just the beginning," Qin Xuan said. "You should look further ahead." This made him wonder: where did the Angel God who built this city go?
The streets were teeming with powerful Spirit Masters—Spirit Emperors were as common as dogs, and Spirit Saints were everywhere. Just then, a loud commotion came from the intersection ahead.
"Is this the strength of the fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh ranked of the Seven Great Clans? How impressive!"
"Black Tiger Clan, Wind Sword Clan, Elephant Armored Clan, Sacred Dragon Clan. Every Clan Master is a powerful Spirit Douluo!"
"Strange, why aren't the Clear Sky Clan, Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, and Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan challenging them?"
"Nonsense. Those three all have Titled Douluo. Only a fool would go up there to humiliate themselves."
Curious, Qin Xuan led Nong Yu and A Yan through the crowd. In the center of the intersection stood seven stone pillars. On top of the first four stood four old men, each with eight spirit rings, their powerful Martial Souls roaring. They were the masters of the Lower Four Clans: the Wind Sword Clan, Elephant Armored Clan, Black Tiger Clan, and Sacred Dragon Clan.
The three stone pillars behind them were much taller. Old men were also seated on them, but they sat cross-legged with their arms crossed, their expressions solemn. Though they revealed no aura, no one dared to challenge them. They were, without exception, Titled Douluo.
"Didn't they say the Sect Competition doesn't start until tomorrow?" Nong Yu asked in surprise.
Qin Xuan smiled slightly. "These are just appetizers. The so-called competition aims to select the seven strongest clans. But with dozens of clans participating, this is just a way to establish the pecking order beforehand."
