Chapter 104: Clear Sky Twin Stars
Most of the other Elders also revealed doting expressions. Only the Seventh Elder frowned with displeasure. The young girl was none other than Tang Yuehua, the daughter of the Clan Master and younger sister of Tang Hao and Tang Xiao. The Seventh Elder disliked her because her Martial Soul had mutated, leaving her spirit power permanently stuck at Level Nine.
Upon hearing about the competition, Tang Yuehua's beautiful eyes lit up. "Will Brother Xiao and Brother Hao be there then?"
"Mm," Tang Tian nodded.
"Hehe, then I want to go too!" she said, her eyes curving into crescent moons.
"The Sect Competition is no small matter," the Seventh Elder reprimanded her harshly. "It's fine for your brothers to go, but what is a young girl like you going there for?"
A flicker of disappointment crossed Tang Yuehua's eyes, but she was incredibly smart. To avoid putting her father in a difficult position, she quickly ran to his side and linked her arm through his. "Father, please take me, okay? I haven't seen Brother Xiao and Brother Hao in so long. I've almost forgotten what they look like."
"Yuehua, it's more likely they've forgotten what you look like," Tang Tian laughed heartily. When they had left, she was just a little girl. Now, she had grown into a vibrant young woman.
The other Elders were also amused by her mischievous demeanor, and the atmosphere instantly became joyful. The Seventh Elder, knowing he had spoken incorrectly, snorted lightly and no longer objected. Tang Yuehua had gotten her wish.
In a certain Soul Beast Forest, by a river, two men were roasting fish over a bonfire.
"How is it, Big Brother? What did Father's letter say?" one of the men asked after taking a big gulp from a wine jar. A hint of blood-red light flashed in his eyes.
"Father wants us both to go to Spirit City and meet up with him," the other man, who looked older and more composed, replied.
They were Tang Hao and Tang Xiao, the two brothers whose names had become famous in recent years as the Clear Sky Twin Stars.
"Why go to Spirit City?" Tang Hao frowned. Ever since Qian Daoliu had lost to Tang Chen, the Clear Sky Clan disciples had become arrogant, looking down on Spirit Hall. Tang Hao was no exception.
"The new Sect Competition is about to begin," Tang Xiao explained, his mood becoming much heavier. He had witnessed the last competition, and while Tang Chen had brought supreme glory to their clan, the tragic, bloody battles between the other sects were still vivid in his mind. Now that Tang Chen was gone, this competition would be no small challenge for his father.
Hearing this, Tang Hao snorted coldly. "Since when did the status of our Clear Sky Clan as the World's Number One Sect depend on Spirit Hall's decision?"
"This is a rule from ancient times," Tang Xiao said with some helplessness.
"Hmph, it's nothing more than a means for Spirit Hall to weaken the other clans! Sooner or later, I will break this rule!" Tang Hao declared, smashing his wine jar in a fit of ambition.
"How can it be that easy?" Tang Xiao smiled bitterly. Then, he added gently, "Oh, right. That girl Yuehua will also be there, so the three of us can have a good reunion."
At the mention of his sister, a gentle smile appeared on Tang Hao's face. "Then I'm really looking forward to it. She must have grown up by now."
As they spoke, two figures, one black and one white, floated out from the opposite hillside as if by teleportation.
"One Spirit Saint, one Spirit Douluo. Are these the Clear Sky Twin Stars the Master wanted us to monitor? Their strength is formidable, but they lack vigilance," Mo Ya said, gazing at the bonfire below.
Bai Feng stood beside him with his arms crossed. "It's not a lack; it's simply unnecessary. The strongest Spirit Beast in this forest won't exceed fifty thousand years. For them, it poses no threat whatsoever."
"You really are as merciless as ever," Mo Ya pouted. "Speaking of which, the Master clearly gave us half a year to learn the language and acquire spirit rings. Why, in less than two months, did you impatiently seek them out?"
"The language is mostly mastered, and spirit rings just need to be selected appropriately based on the Master's theory," Bai Feng replied. In reality, he was uneasy. He wanted to complete the task as quickly as possible to prove their value to Qin Xuan. Only tools that proved their value would not be discarded.
