Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: “The Dark Temptation”

8:00 A.M. – The Calm Before the Storm

The days had started blending together. Every morning felt like déjà vu — wake up, get dressed, head to Oblivion Holdings Inc., try not to screw anything up. And all the while, Diablo Von Bloodick remained an enigma I couldn't quite unravel.

Today felt different though. There was a heavy tension in the air, something I couldn't quite place. Diablo's office was quiet, and his presence seemed even more oppressive than usual. His icy gaze, the way he stood with such authority — it was impossible not to notice. Even the smallest interactions between us felt charged, like something was just beneath the surface, waiting to explode.

9:00 A.M. – Another Test

When I arrived at Diablo's office that morning, I noticed something was off. There was a strange figure standing in the hallway, just outside the office. Tall, dressed in black, they wore a long coat that covered most of their figure. Their face was hidden, but I could see the red glow of their eyes. They weren't human, and they were definitely not here for a friendly visit.

As I walked by, I felt a cold shiver run down my spine. I ignored it, trying to focus on the task at hand. But the moment I stepped inside Diablo's office, I was met with an unsettling silence.

Diablo stood by the window, his back to me. "Clark," he said, his voice low. "Come in."

I stepped forward, feeling the weight of his gaze on me. There was something about him today — something that made me feel even more nervous than usual.

He turned around slowly, his eyes locking with mine. "I've been watching you, Clark. You've shown potential. But I need to know how far you'll go. How far are you willing to push yourself?"

I didn't know what he meant, but I swallowed my fear. "I'll do whatever it takes, sir."

Diablo's lips curled into a smile, but it wasn't warm. It was predatory. "Good. Then we'll see if you're truly ready."

11:00 A.M. – The Offer

The day went by quickly, filled with task after task. But there was a constant undercurrent of unease, like I was walking a tightrope with no safety net below. Diablo hadn't given me any more instructions — until lunch.

He called me into his office again, and this time, the air between us was thick with something unspoken. I had been waiting for this moment, but now that it was here, I wasn't sure I was prepared for what was coming.

Diablo sat at his desk, looking every bit the intimidating CEO. But today, there was something different about him. The way his red eyes gleamed, the way his aura seemed to radiate power. It was like he was a completely different person.

He leaned back in his chair, his fingers tapping lightly on the desk. "Clark, you've proven yourself. But I have an offer for you."

I raised an eyebrow. "An offer?"

His smile was dark. "You've been doing well, but I can offer you more. Much more. Power, wealth, influence... all at your fingertips. But there's a price."

I felt my heart race. What was he talking about? "What kind of price?"

Diablo's gaze was unwavering. "Your loyalty. Your complete loyalty. I'm offering you a chance to be more than just my assistant. I'm offering you a role at the highest level of my company, with all the perks that come with it. But if you accept... your life will never be the same."

1:00 P.M. – The Decision

His offer was tempting. I could feel the weight of it in my chest. Power, wealth, influence — it was everything I had ever dreamed of, everything I needed to survive in this cutthroat world. But there was a price.

The words complete loyalty echoed in my mind.

I didn't want to make this decision. I didn't want to fall deeper into Diablo's world. But what other choice did I have? I was already in too deep. I had no way out.

"I'll accept," I said, my voice firm despite the storm brewing in my chest.

Diablo's smile widened, though it didn't reach his eyes. "I knew you would. Welcome to the real world, Clark."
