Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: “Darker Desires”

8:00 A.M. – A New Role

I thought my life couldn't get any more chaotic. I was wrong.

Now that I had accepted Diablo's offer, I was officially promoted to a higher position at Oblivion Holdings Inc.. The new title seemed meaningless compared to the weight of the decision I had made. My life wasn't my own anymore. It was tied to Diablo — in a way I couldn't even explain.

But with that power came responsibility. I was now directly involved in his affairs, and those affairs were dangerous. The company wasn't just about business. There was something darker going on behind closed doors.

9:30 A.M. – The Dark Side of the Company

On my second day as a higher-up, Diablo called me into his private office. The moment I stepped in, I felt the tension in the air, like something heavy was hanging over us.

"You're more than just an assistant now," Diablo said, his voice low and commanding. "You'll be handling special tasks from now on."

I swallowed hard. "Special tasks?"

He looked at me, his red eyes burning with an intensity I couldn't ignore. "The kind of tasks that involve people you don't want to know. But you'll learn. You'll be involved in the company's most important projects, Clark. You need to be ready for anything."

11:00 A.M. – A Glimpse of the Underworld

A few hours later, Diablo took me to a part of the building I hadn't seen before. The lower levels were far different from the sleek, polished upper floors. The air was cold, damp, and smelled of something… metallic.

"Where are we?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper as I followed him down a narrow hallway.

"You're about to learn more about the true power of Oblivion Holdings Inc.," Diablo replied, his voice devoid of any warmth.

He led me into a room that looked like a command center, with multiple screens flashing data I couldn't make sense of. There were people here, too — strange individuals who didn't quite look human. They watched us as we entered, their eyes glowing red.

"This is where the real work happens," Diablo said, turning to face me. "This is where we handle everything."

My pulse quickened. "What exactly do you mean by everything?"

Diablo smiled, but it wasn't comforting. "Everything, Clark. We deal with things you don't want to know about. But you'll learn. And you'll help me."

12:00 P.M. – The Truth Comes Out

By the time we left the lower levels, I was reeling. The truth of Diablo's world was more terrifying than I had imagined. There were things in this company — things that shouldn't exist. But Diablo wasn't fazed by it. He was in control. And now, so was I… in a way.

As I walked back to the elevator, Diablo stopped me with a hand on my shoulder. "Clark," he said, his voice soft but firm. "This is just the beginning. You've chosen this path. And now, you have no choice but to follow it."

His words echoed in my mind, but I didn't know if I was ready for what lay ahead. I had made my choice, but there was no going back.
