Synopsis

I am the protagonist here!!I am the one whose words matters now. Hahahahaha! It's time to show Who I am and so shall I. *He was still going on with his edgy monologue like a middle school chunnibyou even though he was an adult..Sigh! It seems he is asking for it* 'hiss' The cold hiss of grass against scales, and the gut-wrenching realization— I was no longer human. Reborn as a snake in a rural village steeped in superstition, my new life comes with a death sentence. Here, snakes are seen as omens of misfortune—creatures to be hunted, feared, and killed on sight. The villagers’ chants of old gods and the smell of burning incense are daily reminders that I am the monster they loathe. Yet survival is only the first coil of my journey. Will I remain a hunted creature, slithering in the shadows of fear and hatred—or rise to become a legend that even the villagers must bow to? *This kid is clearly dreaming once again..but please let him be..Who knows what miracles he might create? huh! Why am I being a delulu like him?!*

Chapter 1 - A New World? Am I the Protagonist

I was born beneath the belly of the earth.

No!! I'm not kidding..I thought this was my time to shine or so I thought ..

But as they say 'Reality is often disappointing.'

I agree with this once again.

I emerged in silence, wet and coiled inside a burrow dug by some creature I would later devour. Yeah you thought I could still keep my sanity?!

It's not like I wanted to slither around hissing and scaring others..

And no I'm not trying to play Victim card here, I am not like those kids who only know how to write 'victim card' in someone's comment section..Or maybe I did so but nevermind.. It's all in the past.

So where was I..

*coughs*

The dirt was warm. The air tasted of roots and old fear.

And I remembered dying. Yeah you wanna know about how It felt while dying..hmph! Wake up to reality!! Reincarnation is not all sunshine and rainbows as they show in most of the shows, where a Beta boy get alpha male powers..or is it Sigma now?

Anyways I got shi- I mean for real..I wish I was kidding

*sobs*

I have to travel through shi- nowadays so much that I don't wanna even write that abomination's name without censoring!

Yeah I got my luxurious Isekai by you people's favourite..

TRUCK-KUN!!

But sadly Truck-kun was not kind it seems..

I was reborn- Not as a snake. But as a man.

I still remember the first time in my past life..when that thing descended inside my home and everyone was scared shi-

A man with a spade in his hand and a cigarette between his teeth.

Actually a house construction was going on nearby, I asked for that spade from them...and I was really scared so I lit a smoke for that. I know it's injurious to health so don't smoke anything if possible,

Well..

I remembered swinging the blade down on something long and slithering, again and again, until the ground shook and the thing stopped moving.

"Bloody thing," I had said. "Kill it before it kills you."

Now?

Now I am that thing.

---

The first thing I noticed was hunger.

A burning, gnawing emptiness in the center of my body.

But no—this was not human hunger. There was no desire for spice or warmth or comfort. Just… need. Raw. Animal. Yeah I am an animal now.

I slithered out of the hole with the instinct of something ancient.

My body moved without thought—smooth and silent.

I saw the world in a different light now. Shadows of small lives flickered across my vision—mice, frogs, birds, even humans.

But all I wanted… was warmth. Yeah My human emotions were still there somewhere hidden beneath that hunger and bodily needs and more important was..

to survive.

It is not easy to survive after being reincarnated as a Snake which is the reality now I have to face everyday.

---

The village was still as I approached.

Nestled between two hills, its cracked houses and dusty fields reeked of kerosene, cow dung, and fear.

My fear.

Their fear.

All mingled like heat in the air.

I knew this place.

Not from this life, but the last.

I had built fences like these. Slapped children for throwing stones.

Buried a neighbor's dog after it was bitten by something like me.

Now, I crawled in the shadows of the walls I once patched.

And every step I took... I wondered:

Is this punishment?

Or rebirth?

Or is this hell I am facing for my deeds?!

I don't know and I don't think I'll ever know..My focus is only on survival for now.
