They had arrived at the end of the railway tracks where civilians were allowed to reach . Any further ahead was designed as a danger zone only adventures the police and military were allowed to continue. Sensors were placed in a line to show if there was a breach. These were highly advanced sensors which when breached the border patrol would arrive in mere seconds if they were close by or in minutes and because the border was large and it wasn't a national border. The patrol would also work with some few designated individuals and agencies to keep the borders safe . Both of them passed this checkpoint. John waved his left hand at the sensors and the gates opened Blink wondered how the system worked and he closely observed then he asked his father how the mechanism worked .
" Hey son if you want to know how all this works then you have to figure it out yourself." John said to his son as he looked curiously . " I can't tell you the details but if you look closely you'll see something. Blink looked closely and as he looked at the sensor bars he saw that there was something faint that was reflecting light yet his senses told him that there was something abnormal there.
" Okay you'll figure the rest later we will be late. You know your mother isn't the patient type when one's off schedule." He said ." Haha funny dad since when have you been on time" Blink thought to himself." Let's go " John stated to his son . He gave his son a bracelet which was specialty crafted to resonate with his power and it was a perfect match with his son because in one of his physical scans he had a fairly similar mana wavelength.
They continued with their journey and walked for some minutes into nowhere. Blink aimlessly looked and this place was definitely a forest. Where all that was around seemed normal . They had now walked the two kilometers and then John finally opened his lips "done ." " What's done " blink spoke up and looked at his father quite surprised . " You mean we aren't there yet" he added .
" We got some ways off to go, I was just making sure we aren't being followed . Plus the synchronization is now complete, " John said. " What synchronization " blink replied curiously but before his father could reply he said " the bracelet you mean ." His father nodded to answer him back.
" Now just hold on to me and we'll be off in a hippy moment" John said . " Dad you know I'm not a little kid anymore I can keep up with you now you know," he said . " No not at the moment ," . John grabbed Blink and in a moment his speed exploded leaving a boom vacuum sound which meant that he had nearly broken mark speed . He moved so fast that he nearly left an after image but there was definitely an aftershock for ground had cracked where he moved .
Blink felt as if his body was being crushed under the overwhelming weight and suddenly being lifted off the ground like that it was as if the air was being sucked out of his chest at an overwhelming rate . " So this was what he meant by being able to keep up he isn't even trying to use magic of any sort to boost his mobility, he's insane all my intestines feel like they are being crushed , I feel like I'm gonna puke, breathing is getting insanely difficult to do , my chest is on fire and my skin feels like it could peel off."
He tried to call his father yet he wasn't able and in an instant he felt as if he was able to breathe again . " Sorry son I knew that was going to happen but we were getting behind schedule and I needed to move fast so I'm sorry ."
" I thought we had arrived when you told me we had only two kilometers to go " blink shouted. " Yeeaaa well I lied to mislead some people who were trying to follow us, he said. " Since when were we being followed " asked Blink. " Since we left the house " he replied. " Then we have to hurry and go back home and help them they need us ." Blink seemed to have mixed emotions of anger and worry. " Don't worry nothing wrong is going to happen your mom and aunt are there and later your uncle is going to join them so don't worry , I think he has already arrived at home by now , John told his son to reduce the worry and when he heard that his uncle was going to be there his worries seemed to be leaving him in that instant.
He knew his uncle wasn't just some pushover that could be taken out quite easily. So he decided to push on with his father. " Okay then if uncle is there then I'm sure they'll be completely fine and those rascals sure have no chance of escape especially if it's escaping him."
" So how far are we going to go ," he said. " Hey I'm okay now. " Blink hadn't noticed that his breathing had already gone back to normal his father explained it to him that the reason why he wasn't able to keep breathing normally while they launched was because his body had not synchronized completely to form a barrier coating on him but now it was complete and his body was now using it freely.
They had now moved several kilometers away around twenty or so it only took his father a few mere minutes and they had finally arrived at their destination. John had already asked for permission for his son to gain entry. because his entire family was not granted permission he could only take one person and he was the one chosen. His little sister didn't love this kind of stuff so he was the only choice. His aunt and mother would still get permission to go even if it was at a later date.
" I would have taken the entire family but what's the point if not all of us are going to enjoy it. Besides we do need a little more father and son bonding time. Still when you were younger you used to love going on adventures" John said.
John : While we are still on the subject I'm embarrassed to say but I'm not really sure what your sister is really interested in .Would you give me an idea .
Blink : ( suddenly laugh out loud) you're telling me you have no clue in what she is really into .
John : I know she loves science but she is really isolated from people to really allow her to shine and you were only recently allowed to come down to the third layer. Plus apart from us you are one of the few people who stay with her most of the time.
Blink : ( he smiled at his dad with teary eyes while desperately trying to hide it yet his father was someone who would notice very quickly and still act as if nothing had really happened, yet he smiled back at him slightly and this moved him). What are you smiling about ? ( All in all he was happy even though his father only showed his feelings occasionally,yet he was still furious because he didn't do it often.)
John : so what else does she really like ( he said this and then activated his mana boots so that he could sky walk) .
Blink : ( he scratched up his face showing a display that he was thinking ) well it's true that she's a nerd of sought, she also loves martial arts and very unique and don't you ever tell her I told you this, please. ( He stammered, then did as if he was thinking again .)( John was about to say something when he spoke up. She loves guns a significant amount. So maybe if you could technically take her training.
John : I'll think about it.
Blink : it will be great for her she could be able to take care of herself.
John : yeah you have a point.
They had now gone through some mileage across the sky when John all of a sudden started to slow down and took in the view of the forest
John : how does it look .( While he looked at his son curiously ).
Blink : how does it look ? ( He asked this without even thinking)
John : I mean the scenery
Blink : it looks great . It is good once in a while to have some nature time ( both nodded their heads)
They both talked fot a bit looking at the beasts which were moving through the thick woods and then they found a small hilltop where they had lunch which was being held by some magical device or so it seemed like it.
Blink : Dad what's ( he was bewildered ) how do you have a quantum watch .
John : sure it's a watch but between you and me it's a prototype . A special design of sorts specially made and catered to me. So don't let anyone know I told you this.
Blink : so how far is this place supposed to be .
John : just a little further and we'll be there ( he stood up and stretched his arms yawned and then he said it) I guess we should get going .This time I'll go faster so we'll get there at a moment's notice.
Blink : so you're telling me that I will re-experience what I felt when we first took flight again I don't want to feel like that again.
John : Look at your bracelet ( and blink who was sitting just casually taking in the beautiful view never even noticed that his bracelet had turned to a dark hue of green) .
Blink : I didn't even notice that ( he was amazed) now that's a dark shade of green.
John : So how do you feel. ( As he casually signaled him with a nod .)
Blink : I feel ( as he stood up ) unbelievably light ( he jumped casually and he jumped at least twelve feet high. He even made a huge dent on a tree as he tried to apply some force and because it wasn't magical or had a normal magical signature it nearly fell over from the overwhelming might of his punch.)
John : Now if you're ready we can leave . We can finally set sail because it's fully powered.
Blink : Sure let's go it's about time to really know where we are going ( he had a curious smile on his face and walked towards his father clenching his fists and gritted his teeth a bit) . Can't wait.
They walked for some distance and Blink asked his father why they would not skywalk or maybe use magic.
John : if we sky walk right now we would be calling for death mostly you( he said this in a very low tone that was inaudible to Blink) and your mother would lop my head off .
Blink nodded to show that he understood what he was saying and just as they continued. A screatching sound came from above them and a gigantic bird out of nowhere glided above them and a strong gust of wind followed. " THE FUU....
