Chapter 46 - The Boy Who Was Seen

Grunhilda's steps were wide and deliberate as she crossed the room in only a couple strides to take the bags from Sylene. She carried them to the dining table, and Sylene released a small sigh of relief. Mavis joined him and began helping her unload the groceries they had brought together.

They carried the items to the electric storage and began organizing them in the underground freezer. Sylene watched as Grunhilda tucked frozen meat deep into the innermost corner.

Noticing his gaze, she explained, "The deeper you place it, the colder it stays."

As Sylene handed her the last piece of meat, he hesitated. Then, gathering his courage, the boy asked quietly.

"I'm sorry... Could I also put this inside? It's small. It won't take much space…"
