Chapter 14 - 014: Barbara’s Little Quirks Can’t Be Found Out

In the Star Dome Company's recording studio.

Ken handed Barbara the script, which contained the game's voice lines for Barbara.

"This…"

Staring at the script, Barbara suddenly felt a little shy.

She realized these lines were all her usual catchphrases.

The kind she said nearly every day.

She didn't expect Ken to know even these details so well. Then… could he know other things too? Like some of her little quirks?

Mr. Ken mustn't find out about her little quirks.

Barbara's thoughts began to wander, and her cheeks turned pink from embarrassment.

"What's wrong?"

Ken noticed Barbara lowering her head, her face flushed, and asked instinctively.

This script was perfectly proper—there was nothing indecent in it… cough, so why was Barbara showing such a shy expression?

"Ah… It's nothing, Mr. Ken. I-I can start now, right?"

Barbara avoided Ken's gaze, her face feeling even hotter.

"One moment." Ken turned on the camera in the studio, then handed Barbara the recording equipment, nodding: "You can start now."

While Barbara was recording, Ken was also teaching little Klee.

In the game's world, little Klee didn't actually know too many words. But here, because Alice had gotten lost in this world six years ago, she'd taught Klee to read when bored.

But some complex characters were still difficult for Klee.

So Ken taught her himself.

"La la la…"

With Ken's guidance, little Klee quickly got into character.

When she said "La la la," her hands went to her sides as she pretended to be an airplane, running and then making a sudden stop—adorable and soft.

"Want to go fish-blasting with Klee?"

For this line, Klee was especially skilled.

Her expectant expression, paired with her signature move, made anyone watching want to scoop her up and ruffle her hair.

Even though Ken had been with Klee for two or three hours, seeing her like this still made him smile with doting pride.

Let alone those game players obsessed with the 2D world.

Ken could already imagine the frenzy when netizens saw the real-life version of these characters.

As expected of his daughter—she was just too cute.

Alice… you secretly ran away with my daughter, we'll have to settle this behind closed doors one day.

"Knights of Favonius, Spark Knight Klee reporting… uh… what's the next line? Klee can't remember…"

"Good morning! Take Klee out to play, let's go on an adventure together!"

"It's lunchtime! Ah, what should I eat? Let me check the 'Teyvat Travel Guide'…"

As Klee moved around, dubbing the lines, she happily asked, "Teyvat Travel Guide? I didn't expect Daddy to know about Mom's book! Looks like Daddy and Mommy really love each other!"

"Of course… how else could you exist?" Ken patted little Klee's head, smiling.

In reality…

He and Alice were just a one-night stand. If it weren't for the Game Invitation System, he wouldn't have even known he had such an adorable daughter.

The more Ken thought about it, the more unbelievable it was.

Alice, oh Alice… it'll take at least three days and nights to settle this debt.

Time flew by.

Although Klee and Barbara didn't have that many lines, it still took more than two hours to finish the first batch.

Ken didn't want to overwork them, so after the first stage was done, he used the remaining time to take them out for desserts.

But… even though Genshin Impact hadn't launched yet, walking down the street with Klee and Barbara still drew a lot of attention.

After all, these two-dimensional beauties really did have a different aura compared to real-world girls.

"Mr. Ken… people here seem so friendly."

Barbara elegantly ate a little cake, noticing the intense looks from people around them. Her sapphire-blue eyes sparkled with happiness.

Wow…

Blue Star's food was delicious, the buildings and decor were all new and interesting, and everyone seemed so welcoming.

If she wasn't afraid of revealing her identity, Barbara would have let rainbow elemental stars burst out around her to show her satisfaction and happiness.

"Mmm… People on Blue Star really are enthusiastic, but their ways are different from Teyvat. Many are polite on the surface but hide sharpness inside. You still need to be careful."

Ken spoke seriously—not everyone was as gentlemanly as him.

With how Barbara looked, if she walked alone, ten people would come hit on her, and nine would be perverts.

True, he was a pervert too, but he had the Game Invitation System.

At least he was open about it.

"I see, I understand—not everyone is as polite and gentlemanly as Mr. Ken."

"Thank you, Mr. Ken, for your hospitality. I've really had a wonderful time today."

Barbara spoke from the heart.

Mr. Ken was handsome, had a lovely voice, cooked delicious food, was strong… even better than Master Diluc, the most popular man in Mondstadt. Barbara's eyes sparkled.

Why did she suddenly want to steal Miss Alice's husband?

Realizing her own thoughts, Barbara quickly shook her head…

This was their first meeting! How could she be so forward?

Besides…

Her faith had just been shaken. She should be mourning her lost youth, not thinking such things at a time like this…

Barbara, you're too sinful!
