Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 Xiaolan's Talent (Additional Update)

After school in the afternoon, Baishi Hui and Ran went to the Karate Club for sparring.

After a few days of practice, he could clearly feel that Ran's progress was very significant.

When they first sparred, Ran's attacking tendency was very obvious.

But now, she has learned how to hide her attacking intentions.

Baishi Hui delivered punches and kicks at Ran while reminding her, "Observe, analyze!"

"It's okay if you really can't analyze it."

"The attacker consumes several times more stamina than the defender, so the attack cannot last forever."

As he spoke, he deliberately slowed down.

Ran keenly caught on, and after dodging that punch, she immediately began to counterattack.

However, when she saw Baishi Hui smile, her heart suddenly skipped a beat, and she realized she had fallen for it.

And that was indeed the case.

After successfully tricking Ran into making a move, Baishi Hui aimed a punch at her lower abdomen.

Ran had no choice but to watch herself get hit.

After a few days of training, Baishi Hui had good control over his strength, so that punch didn't carry much power.

Ran mumbled with a defeated expression, "Oh, Shirashi-kun, you got me again. Aren't you too cunning? You even pretended to be out of stamina!"

Baishi Hui chuckled, "A match doesn't care if you're cunning or not, as long as you can score points!"

"Also, didn't I tell you to observe and analyze properly?"

"Don't just look at my movements, also observe if my breathing is rapid or if I'm sweating."

"Yes, I understand." Ran nodded, indicating that she had remembered.

She said helplessly, "Why do you have to think so much even when doing Karate…? It's just like Deduction."

Baishi Hui picked up a bottle of mineral water from the ground and threw it to Ran, saying, "The more you think, the higher your chances of winning. Karate isn't just about your fighting technique; it also tests your strategy!"

"Oh, I see." Ran took the mineral water and suddenly realized, "My senior never told me any of this before."

"Your senior doesn't plan to go professional, Karate is just a hobby for her, so of course, there's no need to understand it so deeply." Baishi Hui said with a sigh, "Your talent is a pity. If you had received professional Karate teacher guidance from a young age, you wouldn't be at this level now."

After training Ran these past few days, he had fully understood Ran's talent.

She was like a Saint, the same move was ineffective against her.

Her eyesight and reactions were both quite fast!

"Not at all!" Ran was a bit shy from the praise. She took a sip of water and said, "I don't plan to go professional either, so there's no need to hire a Karate teacher for guidance!"

After taking a sip of water, Baishi Hui casually chatted, "Ran, have you thought about what you want to do in the future?"

"A Lawyer, like my mother." Ran said without thinking.

This answer did not come as a surprise to Baishi Hui.

It was very common in Tokyo for children to follow in their parents' footsteps.

It was normal for Ran to become a Lawyer with Eri Kisaki.

It would be abnormal to become a Detective with Kogoro Mouri.

After all, it was clear who among those two was doing well and who was a mess.

What's more, Ran had no interest in Deduction at all.

There was no way she would choose the path of a Detective.

"What about you? Shirashi-kun. What do you want to do after graduation?" Ran also asked curiously.

"Me…" Baishi Hui subconsciously glanced at the Azu the Bandit system, then said, "I might become a Lawyer too."

"Huh? Why?" Ran was surprised by this answer.

Baishi Hui smiled, "Of course, to combat criminals and uphold justice. Besides, there's a saying in my hometown: 'If you won't listen to reason, then I also know a bit of fisticuffs.'"

"Is… is that so?" A hint of confusion appeared in Ran's clear eyes, clearly not understanding the meaning.

Baishi Hui didn't explain much, saying, "We've rested enough, let's continue."

"Okay!" Ran came back to her senses and nodded, then began a new round of getting beaten.

… … … … … … … … … … … …

At 5 PM, Baishi Hui and Ran finished their training and packed up to go home.

On the way home, Baishi Hui wanted to get some information from Ran, so he asked, "I heard Shinichi say that after you win the competition, he'll take you to Toro Tropical Land."

"Oh? Shinichi actually told you about that?" Ran's cheeks flushed slightly, "He really… told everyone about these things."

"Are these things not supposed to be said?" Baishi Hui feigned surprise, "Then just pretend I didn't ask… Don't tell Shinichi I mentioned it to you."

"It's fine." Ran waved her hand, indicating it wasn't important, and said, "He did say that."

"Is it the weekend after the competition ends?" Baishi Hui felt a bit awkward after saying that and added, "Didn't I promise to treat Sonoko to afternoon tea last time? But because of the kidnapping, I haven't been able to find a suitable time."

"So I thought, since it's been delayed for so long, I might as well treat her to Toro Tropical Land."

Upon hearing this, Ran immediately smiled, "Yes, yes! It's the weekend after the competition! We can go together then!"

"Won't that disturb your date with Shinichi?" Baishi Hui asked.

"No, it won't!" Ran waved her hand, indicating it was fine, and said, "It's livelier with more people!"

"Alright, then we'll go together." Baishi Hui replied, easily getting the specific time from Ran.

However, at this moment, Ran whispered, "Um… Shirashi-kun, can I ask a rather private question?"

Baishi Hui looked up at Ran's slightly shy expression, and already had a rough answer in his mind, saying, "About Sonoko?"

"Oh? How did you know?!" Ran exclaimed, finding it very surprising.

"Sounding out the girl a brother has a crush on" was something he did a lot during his school days, not to mention you had a gossipy expression… Baishi Hui muttered to himself, then said, "Just a guess."

"You guessed so accurately." Ran sighed, then couldn't help but ask gossiping, "Um… Shirashi-kun, what do you think of Sonoko?"
