Fyar narrowed his eyes, observing the monsters that were floating in front of the cave's mouth. "Three YGV, ten Zerohex. shiee.. this is quite a hassle is it..," he muttered.
He immediately recalled the information from the book he had read last night. Zerohex, a level twenty monster. Their poison are one of the most troublesome obstacles in this dungeon. Every four seconds, their glowing tentacles will fire a deadly poison laser. The time remaining for an adventurer hit by its poison is only four hours before death, huff. His hand moved to the ammunition pouch on his hip, counting his remaining bullets in his head. Thirty-four. Is this enough?
His eyes then shifted to Rasie and Zaefal. "Are you two good at dodging?"
Rasie and Zaefal glanced at each other for a moment, then Rasie gave a small laugh with smirk gracing her face. "Heh, that's the same as asking if the night is dark, purple hair."
"The night isn't always dark mommy," Fyar replied flatly.
After that, he laid out the plan he had formulated. He and Illya would face the three agile YGV, while Rasie and Zaefal would handle the ten Zerohex.
They then moved, taking positions near the mouth of the cave, which was adorned with pink rocks and giant mushrooms on top of it. Rasie and Zaefal walked slowly in front, each gripping the hilt of their sword tightly.
The air felt heavy, filled with the humming of magic energy from the floating Zerohex. Behind them,
Fyar stood calmly. He took out his pistol. With a fluid motion, his wrist spun the pistol once before it stopped, the muzzle aimed straight ahead.
Click.
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
Four shots shattered the silence, felling one YGV instantly. All the Zerohex immediately turned their attention toward them and shot forward quickly.
Fyar glanced slightly at Illya, who was standing beside him. "Illya."
The girl nodded in understanding. "Teleport," she murmured.
In an instant, Illya and Fyar appeared before the two remaining YGV, fifty meters from their initial position, separating themselves from Rasie and Zaefal who were facing the ten Zerohex.
Zaefal and Rasie bent their bodies slightly, preparing for the barrage of laser fire coming their way.
Ten pale green rays shot straight forward. Both of them dashed ahead, into the rain of fire. Their movements were perfect. Zaefal moved to the left, his body ducking so low it nearly touched the ground as a laser beam passed over his head.
At the same time, Rasie leaped to the right, deflecting one laser with the side of her sword, creating a shower of sparks, then spun in the air to avoid two other lasers. They continued to move in a zig-zag pattern, taking advantage of the four-second interval between each shot to close the distance.
"Zaefal! Take the five on the left!" Rasie shouted. She took a deep breath. "Fire!" Instantly, her sword was engulfed in crackling flames.
Zaefal just gave a slight nod. "Void," he muttered. His purple sword blade was immediately flowed with a dense, dark aura.
Rasie arrived first. Three horizontal slashes of fire split two of the Zerohex in half. As the third tried to shoot at close range, Rasie swung her sword upward, cutting off the monster's tentacle and stabbing its core. Her movements were agile and crude, her fiery blade leaving red trails in the air as she spun and brutally finished off the remaining two monsters.
Meanwhile, Zaefal's movements were calmer. He appeared among his five targets. His void slashes cut and absorbed the monsters' magic energy, causing them to wither for a moment before their bodies were split. Within forty-five seconds, five more Zerohex fell to the ground. Their jelly-like bodies deflated and melted into a black liquid, before finally hardening into a green crystal.
Once finished, Zaefal lifted his head, looked at the pink sky for a moment, and let out a sigh of relief.
On Illya and Fyar's side, their fight was over more quickly. Illya raised her staff high. "Neni!" Instantly, the pink ground beneath the YGV shot upward. Sharp stone pillars trapped their legs, making them unable to move.
Fyar once again spun his pistol in his signature style, then aimed at the heads of the helpless YGV.
Click.
DOR! DOR! DOR!
One YGV's head immediately cracked, pink blood splattering from the wound. He aimed at the last YGV.
Click.
DOR! DOR! DOR!
Blood splattered again, and the last monster was killed on the spot.
"The foxes were still harder," Fyar sighed in relief. His gaze shifted to Illya, who was now panting for breath.
