The banging didn't stop—boom, boom, boom—like someone was using the door as a punching bag to work out their life frustrations.
I sat there on the floor, back against the bed.
Dropping Lucien? Yeah, that felt good in the moment—a little payback for all the crap he put me through back in school.

What if Mrs. Loretta told me that I should no longer be his personal walk teacher or whatever that is called?
That is going to be a good thing though because I am going to be finally free and wouldn't see the bastard's face for some time before we finally divorce.
I rolled my eyes so hard I felt it in my skull. Just shut up already, I thought, wishing I could telepathically make her go away.
"Open this door and tell me why you left my son and let him fall!!!!" Mrs. Loretta's voice pierced through the wood, sharp and furious.
