"Oh… no. Not again." Win's voice was low but laced with fire, his steps heavy as he stormed toward them. Without hesitation, he shoved the stranger aside and snatched King's phone right from his hand.
"Win, wait, let me expl…" King tried, panic rising in his throat.
"Shut up!" Win's shout cracked like a whip. His eyes burned with something King couldn't read. "Not a single word from you. Get in the car. Now. And don't you dare open your mouth until we're home."
The authority in his tone left no room for argument. King's chest tightened, trembling as he slipped into the car. His phone was gone, his voice stolen. He sat frozen in silence while Win drove, the air between them suffocating.
By the time they arrived home, King's hands were still shaking. The moment they stepped into the living room, he rushed forward and hugged Win desperately.
