Chapter 4 - chapter4

The school nurse wasn't in, so Xi Shengyang disinfected my wound himself.

The sting made me flinch as the iodine-soaked cotton swab brushed over the scrape.

"Your sister skipped class again today?" he asked.

"It's her period."

Xi Shengyang gave a light snort. "What a coincidence, every single month."

After bandaging the wound, he said, "Warm up properly before running next time."

On the way back to the classroom, I heard Zhen Shunshun's voice coming from the girls' bathroom: "Yeah, that fat bitch took a nasty fall!" followed by bursts of laughter.

I leaned against the wall and waited for them to come out.

When Zhen Shunshun saw me, her smile froze for a split second before she warmly linked arms with another girl. "Xiao Yu, I found this amazing dessert shop yesterday…"

After school ended in the afternoon, I noticed my "Transformation Diary" account had gained over a dozen new followers.

Someone had commented on my latest post: "The blogger's records feel genuine, unlike those fake food streamers."

I clicked on the commenter's profile—Mo Wen, a girl from the class next door, on the school track team. So *this* was my first true supporter.

When I got home, Zhen Shunshun had predictably gone out for hotpot.

I prepared my healthy meal, took a picture, and uploaded it: "Day 3: Scraped knee but finished the 800m. Down 1.4kg."

Mo Wen commented almost instantly: "Saw you fall, but you persisted through the run—respect!"

Just as I was replying, Zhen Shunshun burst through the door, reeking of hotpot.

She snatched my phone straight out of my hand. "What are you sneaking around for?"

Seeing the screen, her eyes widened dramatically. "Oh my god! You're documenting your weight loss? That's hilarious!"

She immediately opened her livestream account and pointed the camera at my phone screen: "Guys, check this out! My sister's doing a weight loss diary, hahaha…"

The chat exploded instantly:

[She dares post that weight?]

[160 pounds? That's twice my weight!]

[Shunshun, teach your sister how to stay in shape!]

I calmly took my phone back. "At least I'm trying to change, instead of earning praise by deceiving people."

Zhen Shunshun's face darkened. She quickly ended the livestream, snapping, "What's *that* supposed to mean?"

"Exactly what it means," I said, saving today's workout data. "See you tomorrow, Sis."

She slammed the door on her way out. I heard her complaining to Mom in the living room: "Mom! Yuanyuan's bullying me again!"

I put on my headphones and opened the training suggestions Mo Wen had sent me.

The headphones cut through all the noise—including my rapidly beating heart. It wasn't from fear, but anticipation.

Tomorrow, the number on the scale will keep dropping.

And Zhen Shunshun? No matter how much hotpot she ate, she'd just keep getting thinner.

 **One month later...**

The digital scale read 72.0kg.

*Down 8 kilograms!*

I turned in front of the full-length mirror.

The hint of a waistline was visible, and my double chin had mostly disappeared.

The changes were subtle, but undeniably real.

I opened my notebook and marked a new point on the graph.

Beside it, a parallel record showed Zhen Shunshun's weight: 45.0kg—5 kilograms lighter than last month.

"Shunshun, how are you even thinner?" Mom asked worriedly at breakfast, looking at her eldest daughter. "Is studying too stressful?"

Zhen Shunshun was spreading a third layer of peanut butter on her toast. "Not at all. I eat well and sleep great."

She shot me a challenging look. "Better than some people who still look like cows despite eating grass every day."

Grandma pushed a fried egg toward her. "Eat more. Look how thin you are—you've lost your curves!"

I silently drank my vegetable juice.

Over this past month, I'd grown accustomed to their taunts.

Every time Shunshun mocked me during her livestreams, my "Transformation Diary" account would gain dozens more followers.
