Chapter 65 - Rejecting an Alpha

"Because I can't be with you, Kraven," she whispered sharply. "Not when I know Fiora is your mate who is still missing out there… and I won't be one of those omegas who just warms your bed until you're bored."

Athena's words landed like a blade.

Kraven froze, shock flashing across his face. Fiora's name tasted like poison at this moment… unfair, cruel, an anchor to something he didn't want to feel. His jaw tightened, his chest heaving as the wolf in him snarled, desperate to reject the truth she threw at him.

"Athena…" His voice cracked, not with weakness, but with the raw hunger and anger she awakened in him. "Don't you dare compare yourself to them."

He stepped closer, his shadow falling over her, his eyes dark, stormy, fighting to control the glow that wanted to spill free.

"You think I want you in my bed because I'm bored?" he growled softly, inches from her face. "You have no idea what I feel when I look at you."
