Max: You mean this entire building can fly???!??!?!?
Hershel: Yes, indeed...!!
Max's jaw dropped upon hearing it, and as stunned as he was, he was really excited. Max almost wanted to jump in joy, as he was in a literal spaceship, and he was really happy that somehow humanity had become this advanced, a thousand years ago.
Max: So...how did they create this place??
Hershel was silent and didn't answer again for the next five seconds. He then came back online and stared at Max, in a cold way.
Hershel: That is...classified...
Max nodded at it. Hershel was secretive about a lot of stuff and was programmed to not reveal important data. It made sense to him on why they would do it, as humans were selfish and didn't want anyone else to know their technology.
Max: So...how are we gonna do it..??
Lin: Are you both seriously telling me that this ENTIRE building can fly??
Max nodded at him. Lin was shocked, which he displayed by his eyes' widening as a response. Albert had a hand on his chin, thinking.
Albert: It all ....seems impossible....unless a Blessing is involved.
Hershel: Blessing...??
Max: Don't mind him.....he doesn't know anything about science..and Albert, dude!! Don't question it...just accept it!!!
Albert was weirded out by Max's response. Ultimately he chose to just believe him and ignored his own questions.
Melissa raised her hand, invoking everyone's attention.
Melissa: If it isn't a Blessing....then how does it fly...
Max: Hmm...I'm sure it's with electricity, but Hershel....do we have enough electricity to power the entire Dome??
Hershel paused for three seconds before ultimately answering.
Hershel: I'm unsure of that, but we must have enough. I'll check the data right away!!
Hershel turned his back to them, and went over to the main desk. The controls and buttons were all around the moving android, and he started using his metallic arms to type his necessary query. Suddenly the huge screen, or monitor above him lit up and the home page of what seemed like a supercomputer was revealed.
Chuck: Woahhh...what is that???
Max: A computer....now shhhhh...do not disturb him.
Hershel was typing a lot of stuff, and the screen displayed a lot of scientific stuff and blueprints of the Dome, none of which Max could understand. After a decent study, Hershel turned to Max.
Hershel: We have enough electricity reserves to travel for 10 hours at a time. Then we have to wait an entire day for it to recharge using turbines.
Max: Oh wow...that's awesome...I didn't know we could do that!!
Hershel: I see. Science had really improved in the 21st century.
Max: Hmm...wait...what if it falls out of the sky, when we run out of power???
Hershel: Do not worry sir...
Hershel moved to a steel container on his left. He moved to the compartment and there was a massive three foot door in the middle of the wall. Atleast three metallic pipes were connected to it and the divided and went around the entirity of the Dome.
Hershel opened the mini door and revealed an empty space inside. He then pointed at it and turned to them.
Hershel: If in case, we do run out of power mid air, we can use beat reserves and still keep it floating for a while. We can gather firewood, as this Dome can run on any form of energy!!
Max: Wowww!!
Melissa: So, this entire thing can fly, just from firewood???
Max nodded in response and he was trying his best to comprehend Hershel's words. He was also actively trying to figure out the implications.
Max: Wait!! You said that firewood will help us in case we lose electricity, right?? How long will that keep us in air??
Max had a genuine question. The others in the room barely spoke, due to the fact that they barely understood the topics that these two "modern" individuals spoke. Max was worried about firewood not helping them a lot, as Firewood that fits in it wont be as useful as a beat source.
Hershel: It can hell is for about five seconds!
Max: And then what?? We all just FALL AND FREAKING DIE???!??!?!?!
Max crashed out, like he should have already. Five seconds was too less of a time. So he understood that he should probably just rely on the "electricity" side of things in the Dome.
Max just sat down.
Albert: So...Hershel....are you gonna fly this thing..??
Hershel: Oh, Master Albert! Yes. I will be the one personally flying it to your destinations. Anything you need, you can ask me.
Lin: So...where will you take us??
Hershel: Oh I see, Master Lane. Your question is a very important one indeed.
Lin: It's Lin...and not Lane. And you basically didn't even answer me!!
Hershel just stared at Lin for five seconds and then turned to Melissa.
Hershel: Do you have any other questions, Miss Melissa?
Lin: Did he just ignore me??
Albert: I can't believe, even a "machine" with no emotions, doesn't like you.
Albert smirked at Lin, fueling his rage. Lin wanted to fight, but ultimately stayed silent.
Max: This journey is about finding MY family. Hershel. Please. Can you help me??
Max finally removed the happy-go-lucky persona and asked Hershel for a genuine effort. Hershel looked at him, and processed the data. Then he went to the monitor and typed something. The screen lit up again, and Max was amazed.
On the screen was the world Map, and on the map were several hundred red dots, spread across the world.
Chuck: Woah...that looks like the world map!!
Melissa: Hmmmm...yeah it does. Although there are some differences to it, I guess.
Max was intrigued by that information from Melissa. But it was no surprise that there was many changes to landmasses, as it had been a thousand years since it happened, and literal God-like beings were here.
Max: Talk to me, Hershel.
Hershel turned. He then gave an explanation.
Hershel: This is the world map, and the red dots are the locations of every other Dome Bunkers in the world. With this, we can travel to every Dome, and find the family you are looking for.
Max's eyes' widened. He looked at the Map once more. He saw countless dots across the map, but he couldn't count how many. The only one growing blue was in north America, near the coastal areas, and it was safe to assume, that it was this very Dome they were standing in, as that was the exact area he was living in, prior to all this.
Hershel: Granted that it's been a few thousand years, and the locations might slightly vary. But the Dome is almost indestructible. So I don't think it would very far from the dots.
Max smiled at this. He finally had salvation. He could find them now.
Max: Hershel, how long would it take you to start this thing and fly it...??
Hershel: It would take me approximately thirty minutes to switch it on, and ready for flight.
Max: Let's do it!! Let's start the journey..!!
Max smiled. He was going for them. He would find them all. This was the start of the legendary journey of the God who saves all of Mankind.
Hershel: Until I start this, make yourselves home. This Dome...is your Home from now on!!!
