David Mercurius Steefan had won. Xi Fei Lin was on the ground. Somewhere along the fight, this was the condition they had landed upon. The one who fell was the one who lost.
Lin clenched his fist ok the ground, realizing that he had lost to a normal human. David walked up to him, and was calm now. He had gotten over the fact that Lin was being a bit bitchy during the fight and had fought his frustration away. He stood next to the fallen warrior, and could clearly see how agitated he was. It was like the loser was going through a lot of inner turmoil due to circumstances that was out of context to David.
Lin: A normal human....won against me..??
David heard his little whisper, and realised that Lin was talking to himself. But David couldn't help but pity him in his broken state. He stretched his arm to help the fallen young man.
David: It's fine really. I am an expert and trained for years too in hand to hand. If you had used your blades, I definitely would have lost!!
Lin looked at him, angrily. He still had a lot of rage in him. Unquenched rage that still needed to be lost. But David simply smiled, remembering his younger brother, who used to get beat up sometimes.
David: Let's just put it behind us and let it go....alright?
Lin smacked his hand away and got up on his own. He brushed off the dust and slowly walked away. He stopped next to Melissa and Chuck, but didn't turn towards them. He then spoke calmly, in a much quieter voice, as a normal human had just put him in his place.
Lin: You guys wanted to go somewhere, right? I can take you guys there....
Melissa and Chuck were speechless, listening to his calmer voice. They had never seen him this polite. Especially Melissa, who accompanied him for the longer period of time before meeting them.
Chuck: Umm...yeah. Thank you...
Melissa still stunned just nodded.
Lin: Fine. I'll be at the entrance. Bring the rest if you want too..
Lin spoke calmly again throwing people off. He then quietly limped down the hall and took the stairs.
Albert: That....was weird.
David crossed his arms, and tilted his head to the left, thinking. Sachika and Max joined him, as they collectively stared at the leaving Lin.
David: You know....I don't know why. But I think that guy doesn't like me.
Max and Sachika: Ya think??!!
Soon they departed from the Dome. Lin was quiet for most of their journey back to the town. It was almost evening, about half an hour from sunset. The orange warm light of the sun cast a shadow far in the horizon. The water shone as if bright stars had taken a dive into its' depths. And the entire gang, including Hershel this time, walked the road.
Max and David spoke about a lot of stuff, from many relevant political stuff that had happened back then. Max was not the tiny bit interested in it, but he couldn't bring himself to stop his brother.
Sachika meanwhile was chatting away with Hershel on her own about technology. Hershel was giving her normal answers, but it excited her nonetheless. She was much more focused on how he had sentience, which Hershel himself didn't know the answer to.
Chuck and Melissa walked side by side, excited for a happy journey to the library. Lin and Albert were quiet, walking on opposite sides of the same road, as if they were just envoys that weren't related to the group.
They walked to Sigurd's Delicacies and saw Sigurd standing at the broken glass door, with a broom. He turned to look at the entire gang pulling up.
Sachika: Yo!
Max: Aren't you like the chef? Do you ever work INSIDE the restaurant?
Sigurd: Oh my God, you both are related!
Max and Sachika smiled, while Sigurd felt like they both were a troublesome duo.
