Max: Ameliora...te??
Max stood in the edge of the room, completely flabbergasted by what the old lady said. The granny, named Knightley, revealed herself to be an Ameliorate out of the blue.
Max: AMELIORATE???!?!?!?!
Finally clicking in his head, Max burst out with pure shock. Soon enough, he immediately went into his defensive stance and Albert had his palm on the handle of his blade, the Excalibur. He was ready for any of movement from her. Sachika was not completely on board, as she hadn't really encountered an Ameliorate before, even though she knew of their existence. And Hershel, just stood in the corner, finally caught up with them.
Knightley stood at the opposite side of the room. She was just over three feet tall, wrinkles all over her brown skin. She had a huge grin, revealing her yellow teeth, inside that perfectly round face. Her eyes had shrunk to age and had graying hair. The colour of her eyes were slightly green, but it was hard to make out in the dimly lit room. She took a few steps to her right, still snickering to herself, and pulled out a wooden chair on the side. She sat down on it, beside the tiny table.
Knightley: Fret not! I don't harm humans. I've been keeping the "promise" for millenia now.
Albert butted in, removing the sword from the sheath.
Albert: You want us to believe that..?
Max was still occupied in his own thoughts. Knightley still smiled at the blind Samurai, despite him not being able to see it.
Knightley: But I ain't lying, though. Believe it if you want...or not.
Knightley removed a metallic box, the size of her palm and opened it, to reveal a bunch of cards. She carefully started placing them on the table in front of her.
Albert turned to Max for approval, but Max was still trying to think of ways in which she was NOT the enemy. After all, Max wanted to trust her, just by pure instinct. He felt a strange feeling towards her, almost like a kinship, but vague.
Seeing that Max wasn't responding, Albert stepped forward, aiming to atleast injure the unguarded lady, just in case, but Sachika immediately stopped him.
Sachika: Woah, woah! Hold on!! What are you trying to do????
Albert: Well....for our safety...just in case..
Sachika: No, it's fine! I believe she was the old lady that a lot of them speak about in the town. She is quite harmless according to them...
Max remembered their first encounter in the town, realizing that no one feared her there, despite everyone being terrified of Sarzar, another Ameliorate.
Max: Yeahh! The townspeople didn't think much about you too!
Knightley: Heyyy...looks like you are smart enough...
Max walked up to her, brave enough and sat down in front of her, on the other side of the table. He activated the power of his eyes, just for his safety. Albert put his sword back, but they all stood where they were. Sachika noticed this and sort of felt displeased, so she sat beside Max facing the old lady.
Knightley: My, my....I finally have guests over, but I don't have tea to serve.
Max: Skip it, hag and tell me why you wanted us here...why did you call me Silent Angel earlier today?
The old lady snickered, which was something she did often.
Knightley: Straight to the point, aren't you??....well...let me ask you then....
Max: No, I asked you first...wha-
Knightley ignored him and interrupted his speech with her question.
Knightley: So....how was your experience seeing the winged guy on the rock?
Max immediately shut up, despite being annoyed at first. He understood that she was talking about his vision-esque sequence that happened a few minutes ago.
Max: It felt...real. But even I know...that it wasn't...I just feel like...I know the guy...he seemed....close.
Knightley: Of course he is!! You seem to have guessed who he is.....
Knightley judged him, just by looking at his face. Max had realised it and his eyes widened..
Max: So...in other hand....that was me?....he was the Silent Angel..!?
Knightley: EXACTLY!! You are the Silent Angel! And he was too! The reason he seems close is because he IS you! After all he is the First Incarnation of the God Of Perseverance!
