Chapter 3 - System《2》

The confusion and shock inside lucan hospital room was at an immense peak, as the shadow cast down by the titanic structure, hung like a guillotine above their heads.

Lucan breathing had visibly increased, and his heart beat had turned into a festival.

His brain was struggling to process the enormity of what stood before him.

Questions like: is this real? is this a prank? is this a dream? rushed like sea waves across his brain, blanketing him in his questions but something...something deeper, like a memory, a distant one told him it wasn't. It was as if he had seen all this before...

The system status soon blinked out of view in a flash of white causing lucan to wonder where it went.

The nurse's mouth still hanging wide as if it were broken, suddenly began to run towards the room door.

"Mr lucan...please wait here. I'm going to find out what is going on." She said hurriedly, as her feet landed outside the door.

Now, only lucan remained in the private room, save from the opressive shadow being pressed Into his.

Calmly, he rubbed his face with his palms staring at the air, still struggling.

This thing...what was that screen?

Then a thought.

Wait...

With a swift motion, the young man lunged his hands towards the white clean shelf by his side, as he picked up his phone, his fingers doing some tapping.

After a few seconds, the phone had unlocked, as he swiftly began downloading a game. It downloaded not soon after, as he tapped on it, the game blooming like a flower into a blank screen, leading up to a cutscene. With fluid motions and tapping, lucan found himself staring at a system screen inside it, it's content very similar to the floating panel screen before.

He checked making sure it was the same, and except from some changes, it was roughly the same.

With a sigh, he dropped it on his bed, its use no longer needed as his mind wandered of to what was going on. Something this strange wasn't this easy accept. It was weird, different.

And as he layed there, staring he heard a sound.

He looked upwards but there was nothing. He looked to the side but there was nothing. Was he hearing things? Was he getting paranoid? Maybe he was

But then something caught his eye, something eerily small.

It rotated like a clock, spinning in a clockwise style rapidly until suddenly something began materialising.

Vrmmm~~ It pulsed, blue light materialising into view as a floating panel the size of a keyboard formed into sight. It was blue in colour, and etched on it side were designs made of gold. It pulsed softly, its sides radiating off soft blue as the energy looking thing coming out og it coiled like snake in the air, as if absorbing the very energy of the world.

Another shock

But this time lucan did not fear. Rather he was curious. He was very curious What was this panel?

Almost instantly as if understanding his plight the system writing blossomed into view

Lucan read through calmly and attentively everything the system had to offer, and he was stunned. He had never expected this

T.This is insane! Calmly, yet flustered he managed to say.

This system was different from the previous, but what made it really different was the fact that it was bonded to him! It was his personal system! He had completely read the information on it.

Is this like all those game like cheats? The thought came to lucan.

He wasn't really a game freak or fantasy freak. He had read some here and there and that was it. But this felt similar. Very similar infact.

And the ability "Edit anything about you" that was insane. He read it, not twice but three times. The ability was insane, and the fact he could get one life point every 30 seconds....

A smile tugged at his lips. This was crazy..but yet he was smiling. There was a colossal tower, taller than most sky scrapers close to him and yet he was smiling.

His smile was soon caught short, as a doctor dressed in a clean white coat, white scrubs and a stethoscope hanging from his neck came into the room. His name badge dangled while hanging from his shirt pocket as he walked towards the bed of lucan, his face seemingly distressed, as he whether consciously or unconsciously kept on flickering his eyes from the structure to lucan

Lucan straightened himself as the doctor said softly

"Sir.. we will be changing you from this room to another..." He stared at the structure, hands shaking as he said slowly "This thing might be of inconvenience and it is up to us to do our best to make sure you have a good time and have a great time recuperating " Finsihing he said with a smile.

Lucan nodded in approval. He didn't want to stay in the shadows of this colossal thing anymore. Even though the lights of the room were on, the sense of fear pressed in the very air was enough to want him to escape.

With some moments of arranging, lucan was taken out of the room, as they walked across the hallways until they got to a nice and decent looking room.

The doctor ushered lucan in and he entered without complaining or fighting. He layed back on the bed as his eyes flickered unto the other part of the system.

Time to fully understand you..
