Chapter 4 - Information

Hah!—Sighing, lucan let out a wide grin, as he cracked his neck and proceeded to do the same to his knuckles.

Over the past few minutes, he had been reading and thoroughly understanding through all the mechanics in the system and now he had a very decent understanding of his situation.

During this time, some flash of red and blue aided with sirens most likely from police cars could be seen and heard gathering close to the tower. Many news channel like the Daily info, News maniac and some others as well as helicopters too had gathered. Some journalists and news stations even wanted to interview him, after all he was the son of the most influential person in the city, and he was just a few distance away from the tower. But due to doctors and others refusing the new stations had backed away.

Now back to where we were, they were some massive pieces of information that he had learned while reading the system and the first was this.

The system as its name suggested gave him life points. Life points was a currency that he could earn every thirty minutes he was alive and with it he could do massive things. Such as edit himself.

The system showed him his attributes and other informations about himself only, and with life points he could edit it as much as he wants. For example, he could edit his age and he will be far older or younger. He could edit his height and he will be far taller or shorter. He could also rewrite it completely, but the system only gave him a hint of that.

Another thing that he had learned was that, life points was immense. One life point was enough to edit his bank account so much that he could be a trillionaire easily. No even more than that. Just one Life point when converted to human currency was worth more than the whole of humanity account as an existence and the life point will still remain.

The third information on the system he had learned, was the system only responded to questions directed at it. It will never order, interfere or question lucan except when asked to and somehow that was nice for lucan. He wasn't a fan of too much noise except when necessary of course.

The fourth information learned by him was that life points earning could be hastened faster if he who is the host was to be in a place of danger or where a massive event was occurring. For instance, if he was close to a place full of danger or robbers that could harm him, his life point collection will hasten quickly and it could even give boost.

This information was enough to calm his beating heart down. The presence of that tower outside had been pressing unto his edge since, gnawing at him like a predator scanning prey but seeing as how his point collection had not hastened even in the slightest, it seemed he was good.

There were some other informations in it, but they aren't really important save only for the last. That message....

Even after reading it countless time, the sense of haste and fear could still be seen on lucan face.

The message had been just a blur. Nothing more, nothing less but as he read it, he felt his insides twist like noodles. It felt like his soul was yanked out of his body and all his organs were twisted with no mercy or hesitation

He could still feel the shudder, causing him to rub at his white skin

The message was simple

"Get stronger...g..get stronger. Jump into danger...jump into it. Don't slack...dont"

And that was it. Just that. It seemed like some kind of prank...but lucan could swear it wasn't. How was he so sure? He didnt know. But he knew one thing this was real. It was. Something was happening to this planet.

.....

In a high, pristine room — polished to a fault, draped in ornaments, ministerial frames, and photographs of power — a woman sat calmly on a black leather chair, eyes fixed on the mound of documents in front of her.

She was the mayor. The mayor of Ski–Haven City.

Her body was professional, mature, toned like an athlete, sharp in the right places, smooth in others. Her black hair was tied in a tight bun. Her legs, crossed neatly, gleamed a soft, pale white under the room's sterile light.

Across the long boardroom table sat officials and high-ranking staff, each clad in flawless suits, their expressions unreadable but steeped in authority. In front of them: files, blueprints, dossiers — all fanned out like the pieces of a very dangerous game.

At the front of the room, a giant screen pulsed with images — massive colossal structures taller than skyscrapers, sleek and unnatural, now rooted into the city like steel thorns.

The mayor watched, silent. Eyes cold. Unbothered. Focused.

Then, calmly — like she'd already decided how it all ends:

"Let us begin."

And with that… the world tilted.
