The Soul Society.
This world was the final home to every human soul that existed on Earth, these departed souls were protected and guided by the Soul Reapers. These unique souls had phenomenal spiritual power as such they are tasked with the job to maintain the cycle of souls between the human world and the spiritual.
In the recent past three of the highest ranked soul reapers Aizen, Gin and Tosen betrayed the Soul Society and their true plans were revealed to all at the execution of Rukia Kuchiki. Who was put to death for the crime of transferring her soul reaper powers to Ichigo Kurasaki, but was later saved by him and his then the entire soul Society was thrown by the treachery from three captains.
And for the past few weeks the soul reapers have waited and prepared for the return of their recent ally turned friend, however on this day what greeted the Gotei thirteen was not the three captains who betrayed them, but three beings from not even the world of the living they knew of, but another all together.
"It is quite remarkable honestly, I never would have imagined in all my years that I would one day be in the presence of extraterrestrial life forms such as yourselves." Mayuri Kurotsuchi the captain of squad twelve and president of the Soul Societies department of Research and Development.
Kevin, Rook, and Gwendolyn found themselves in the squad 12 barracks as the painted faced captain's assistance chatted and worked while they observed their endless amounts of display screens.
"Well, yes, I can understand your excitement. However, Captain Kurotsuchi, we came here for answers about my cousin, so..." The young woman stared down the odd captain as he waved her off.
"Yes, yes, I am well aware. However, as you should know, nothing in this world comes for free. I demand more information on you in particular, young Miss Tennyson. Nemu, come over and take notes." The mad scientist beckoned his black haired assistant who moved quietly and took a seat beside the mad man.
"Oh, what makes me so special?" Gwen knew he could read her mana to some extent, but she wanted to have a read on how much exactly.
The checkerboard colored face of the captain contorted slightly.
"Miss Tennyson, I can tell that you are attempting to ascertain the extent of my knowledge on the energy that you wield. However, unlike most, I have no issue in admitting my lack of knowledge on this subject. However, from what I understand between the two of us, the one in need of information, the most, is you." The man smiled and revealed his golden teeth as if to subtly say,'I got you.'
Gwen sighed, shook her head, and shrugged.
"I guess you got me. Can't blame a girl for trying. And to explain things easier, the energy I use can be called the blood of everything." . The mad scientist and his assistant turned their heads to the side.
"From what Mister Urahahra told me, spiritual energy flows through those with heightened spiritual awareness and objects. Only those who have a certain level of it can interact with spirits. However, my power, on the other hand, exists in every living thing, everyone has it, and anyone with the proper training can use it. It flows through the cosmos only rivaled by things that do not come from our reality. The name of this power is..."
...
"Mana." Heatblast spoke to the women present about the energy they sensed.
"Be on guard mana and especially potent mana can alter the world around the user, I think that's why this weird forest is so lifeless all its mana was drained." The alien and girls all began to barrel straight towards the source of the demonic sounding scream.
They had no other choice if they retreated. What waited for them was an endless abyss, so for them, the only way out was straight ahead.
The group passed more dilapidated houses, the closer they got, the more space itself seemed to distort.
"This level of distortion is similar or perhaps greater than that of one of our top 3 Espada." Harribel noted audibly so her subordinates understood the severity of the situation, Espada were the demi-gods of the Hollows.
Their powers could reshape the world itself if left unchecked.
So, to the three girls, it put things into perspective for them. However, they were not shaken after all their leader was one of the most powerful beings in Hueco Mundo.
They also had Ben and his endless amount of abilities and forms, who could be said to only be rivaled by the strongest Espada and the hands of Aizen.
The group arrived at a destitute temple. The black liquid covered the exterior of the walls. The entrance was wide open as if to invite them in.
"Ha, it does mphmmm -" Apacxi was silenced by her comrades who put their hands over her mouth.
Harribel and the walking inferno were dead silent as they sensed what lied before them.
"Harribel-"
"If things look dire, use any way you can to get yourself and the girls out of here." The golden haired woman told the alien, cutting him off in the process.
"Hey, I'm the hero here. Epic self-sacrifice is supposed to be my thing." Part joke and serious intent the alien quipped.
"And I'm the Espada of sacrifice, so no, I have the right." The woman seemed to smile under her mask.
"It's a lose situation if only one of us makes it out. How about we both try our best to make it out alive." A stupid smile plastered itself over the alien's face, his heart stirred.
"Only if you promise that we can get some one on one time after everything." The Espada reached for the alien's hand.
"Wouldn't miss it for the world." The alien grasped it, which caused Tres Bestia to share another rare moment where all the members shared a single thought.
"Eww." The trio seemed to turn green as they saw the duo display their affection for one another.
"Oh, grow up, you three." The alien couldn't help but smirk.
The group entered the temple, and instead of the typical temple interior, they were met with a sprawling meadow, underneath a clear sky and dazzling sun.
"What."
"The."
"Hell?!"
"OK, now that's getting old." Heatblast returned to his human form. This was to conserve energy and to allow the life preservation function of the omnitrix to take effect. This was indicated by his eyes having taken on a brighter color.
"We stepped into another concealed space. The door behind us even disappeared." The golden haired woman analyzed then drove her sword in the ground to absorb reishi. Then, she retracted it quickly.
"Next to no reishi, so no flying anytime soon." Harribel sighed as she focused on the horizon that seemed eternally distant.
"I suggest we start moving after all we have been gone from Las Noches for far too long, Lord Aizen must have sent out a hunting -"
"Arrrrthur!" The guttural cry shocks the meadow and cuts off the elegant Sung-sun.
Like death itself had decided to come for them, a black object came at the group with super speed.
The thing seemed to target someone, the leader of Tres Bestia and the third Espada- Harribel. A shockwave radiated out, knocking back the three girls and the green eyed young man.
Harribel stood strong, and her sword blocked the assumed strike.
"Huh?" Harribel uttered for what stood in front of her was a knight in intricate onyx armor, chains that extended from his shoulders touched the floor, he stood a head taller than her. His visor was a blood red, and the thing emitted dark haze that made it difficult to assess or even sense the thing.
"What the -?!" Harribel looked at the beings' weapon. As if to mock her and any swordsman that ever existed, he wielded a stick in the vague shape of a zwihander.
The man applied ever more force in an attempt to seemingly circumvent her guard by the act of slicing her in half.
The beast was met with a rude awakening as instead of defending, she deflected and allowed her blade to slide on her opponent's. Thus, the massive sword smashed into the ground, and Harribel released her sword. Pulled back her left hand, charged a Cero, met the chest piece of her foe, and fired the ensuing blast consumed the entire body of the black armored knight.
Then, the explosion launched the man back for dozens of kilometers.
Hatribel concentrated on detecting the spiritual energy of her group, only to be stopped by a downward slash from the black knight. He seemed unscathed from her last attack.
"Arthur...Arthur...Arthur!!" The beast rambled on about as he kept trying to strike a woman who blocked his attacks with a hardening technique, Hearo.
This technique turned her skin into scales and changed the coloration of her olive skin into that of the night sky.
She parried each strike, a vital point of the knight.
"Arthur!"
"Where did you take them, you bastard!"
Below ground Tres Bestia was engaged with an abomination that seemed to have crawled out a cosmic horror novel.
It was massive with several eyes hidden beneath, layers upon layers of a white membrane. Several illusory limbs came from the monster without rhyme or reason.
Sung-sun ran over the limbs with serpentine-like movements and delivered strikes to joints of the mysterious beast.
Apacci became a pseudo vanguard as she barreled towards the center of the many eyed monster, her chakrams sliced at the eyes and cut apart the membrane.
Oftentimes, the abomination would release odd energy blasts at Sung and Apacci. However, they were reflected by Mila's diamond sword.
They had a beautiful synergy with each other. However, as they attacked, a bigger issue arose.
The monster regenerated the damage dealt to it.
"You girls thinking what I'm thinking?" Apacci screamed, ensuring they heard her. Soon, they all nodded in confirmation as their spiritual energy and pressure skyrocketed.
...
A massive swarm of monsters attempted to overwhelm and devour the alien shape-shifter. However, that plan sank as they could never reach him.
The crystal cavern was alight with emerald light as Ben's brain thought of the name of his transformation, then the omnitrix executed the transformation.
'Portaler to warp space , XLR8 for even more speed and Fourarms for the ultimate punch!' Space shattered, as world ending winds that were created from pure speed combined to create a strike that could reshape continents.
Killer move: Star god annihilation Fist!
The carven was destroyed as the crystals fell from the sky, and the monsters were reduced to little more than dust in the wind.
Ben knelt on the bottom of the cave floor as he clutched his right arm with his left. The uniform was burnt away, while his arm appeared charred and slashed.
'Damn, adding Portaler into that move really took a toll on me.' Ben's pained expression turned into a maniac's grin. 'I can fix this. If I train my human form enough, I could use that technique without any consequences.'
A dark aura made itself known to the young hero, its source was half a book that seemed to have been made of human flesh.
"Holy shit!" Ben retreated from the evil book; he may have lacked the sensory capabilities of Gwen, but he knew evil when it stared him in the face!
However, the book only remained suspended above him.
Ben breathed out a sigh of relief. The aura of the tome was identical to that of the spell Charmcaster used to resurrect her father. It was the aura of one of 'them' the ones who called nothingness their home.
"That one gave me the feeling of drowning, this one feels like a dozen eyes are analysing my soul cell by cell." Ben talked out loud to himself when he thought he blamed his big brain aliens for his new quirk.
