Chapter 21 - Finale

Nicholas' POV

I ended up standing in a dark space but there was a being standing in front of me. His eyes are green, they are glowing along with the lines on his body which is made of wood.

"Who are you?" I asked with curiosity etched in my voice.

"I am Acacia, a once servant but now, an awakened being," he said.

His voice is calm and serene. He doesn't have a shirt that shows his muscular upper body. His hair is not that long but fixed in a mid-fade haircut.

My eyes move down to his wooden hand which is raised towards me, it's as if he is initiating a handshake.

I didn't take his offer, and I can feel something suspicious about this guy. His hand remains raised but he speaks, "I don't mean any harm. If I did, I would have harmed you even before I raised my hand."

"I have many questions," I looked into his eyes, "first, why am I here? What do you want?"

He replies to my question, and he's still calm but I can sense that this man is serious. It hurts my neck though, raising my head to look at him.

"I was born out of his flesh, a successor of one of his abilities which allowed me to mold my hands onto certain weapons like giant blades.

"I was tasked to come here and finish you but after knowing that you value plants, I felt that you are different."

This man is ridiculous. Why would he spare me for loving plants? If this is true, then he must be a die-hard fan of plants.

A vegetarian would love him, not kidding.

I made my brows meet as I began tapping my right foot repeatedly.

"You're suspicious, sparing me for valuing plants, that's ridiculous."

He blinks, lowers his hand, and begins to raise his voice. "THAT IS NOT RIDICULOUS! IT'S OUR CULTURE TO CHERISH PLANTS!"

I raise my hand in defeat. "Okay! I respect your culture. So, why are you truly here? Because we're jumping to unnecessary topics."

I feel him hold my left hand, raising it a bit. Multiple green glowing marks appear on the palm of my hand, spreading up to my arm.

"What is this?" I opened and closed my hand after he released it from his grasp.

"I passed to you my trump card."

I wonder about the trump card he's talking about, therefore, I ask, "What trump card?"

A smile manifests on his lip before cracks appear on his body as he disappears piece by piece, It's as if he's turning into dust which is being carried into the air.

"That ability will defeat him."

His words cause my eyes to widen, my heart to beat faster as I am being consumed by confusion.

I try to step forward but something stops me. I look around my body as a green light is wrapping around me.

3rd POV

Fig's fist is halted by Nicholas, holding his fist in place. A breeze of air caresses him as he slowly opens his eyes which are now light blue.

Nicholas yells on top of his lungs. "Gale! Let's do this!"

The cry of an eagle fills the air as Fig turns his eyes behind him but only to get snatched by a pair of talons.

Gale carries him high in the air as Nicholas follows them. His left hand turns into an iron hammer, and that causes both eyes of the two men to grow wide.

Gale throws Fig towards Nicholas, and Nicholas slams his hammer at Fig. The impact delivers Fig towards the ground but a growing giant tree grows from the ground; its growth increases so fast that it catches Fig.

Nicholas looks around him while he's standing on the back of Gale, and armored vehicles are around the battlefield.

A wind barrier catches one of the bullets, and Nicholas narrows his eyes in a certain direction. "Gale, I need to wear a mask. The authorities will do everything to catch me. Also, I need us to link."

"Link, majesty? If we do that, you might get tired quickly!" Gale responded.

Nicholas looks down for a bit before speaking, "Gale. Someone entrusted me to defeat Fig. I don't have any other choice! Only I can do it!"

Gale becomes quiet before he nods a bit. Every light blue feather on his body is glowing, and light blue patterns appear on Nicholas' hair.

His hands shake as his teeth clench but he stops the tremors on his body. A wing made of hard compressed wind appears on his back as a face mask resembling the beak of Gale covers Nicholas' mouth.

Gale disappears as Nicholas flaps his wings, and he moves in different directions, avoiding every bullet coming his way.

Nicholas and Fig meet halfway, and their fist collides, generating a strong shockwave from the collision of their fists.

Fig's eyes widen after Nicholas manages to land a swift kick straight on his jaw. Fig's sight becomes blurry, and Nicholas sends a fast straight punch to Fig's face.

That punch sends Fig crashing into the giant tree that he summoned. He immediately flies away from the tree, avoiding a giant wind sphere from hitting him.

Before he can make a move, Nicholas is right in front of his eyes. Fig punches him but Nicholas moves his head aside, avoiding the punch.

"How?!" Fig's eyes widened, his breath faster.

"Shocked?" Nicholas' light blue eyes stared straight into Fig's eyes as if Nicholas was staring through Fig's soul.

Fig begins channeling his energy to his mouth but Nicholas slaps him in the blink of an eye.

"You dare to lay a hand on me!" Fig yelled.

He continues to channel his energy through his mouth, and he unleashes a massive energy beam at Nicholas.

Nicholas thrusts his left palm at such speed, striking Fig's chin, diverting the beam straight to the sky.

Fig moves his eyes downward, seeing Nicholas' calm demeanor, he releases multiple sharp wooden branches from his body.

Nicholas avoids all branches, flying away from Fig and the branches. Nicholas looks down at the ground and sees wooden warriors stabbing the other policemen while the other policemen are shooting them.

"No!" Nicholas turned towards the ground, flying straight at them.

He turns around as branches manage to reach him but Nicholas releases sharp compressed wind blades, cutting all incoming branches.

Nicholas brings out his sword with a wind-compressed blade, swinging it at high speed, cutting all the warriors in half.

Nicholas looks at all of the policemen, and he meets the eyes of Juan, his roommate.

Juan walks closer to him and shows his badge.

Juan puts his badge back in the pocket of his black pants. "Sir! Who are you?! What's happening?"

Nicholas changes his voice before speaking calmly. "Tell them to move away! I can't afford to have people dying because of me."

Nicholas turns around and raises his hand as he lets out a massive force of wind, creating a barrier that covers all of the 20 policemen, and Nicholas.

Wooden spikes hit against the barrier. Nicholas turns his head around, seeing Juan's eyes.

"Sir, I need you to listen. Go away and I'll handle the monster." Nicholas turned his back on Juan.

He flaps his wings before releasing a massive wind pressure from his wings, sending him flying at such speed towards Fig.

The wind pressure causes the policemen behind to cover their eyes but Juan continues to watch Nicholas with narrowing eyes.

Green energy particles appear around Fig's palms, they form into a pair of green orbs before they turn into massive energy beams.

The wind wings multiply in size, becoming massive. Nicholas splits the wings, and the first two massive wings block the beams as the other pair of massive wings are flapping.

Nicholas reaches Fig and clenches his left hand before it turns onto an iron blade. He captures Fig's hands with the first set of wind wings, and he pierces Fig's abdomen with the other pair of wind wings.

Nicholas inhales deeply, his eyes narrowing as his anger shows in his eyes.

"You almost harmed my family, moron. Now, you will pay for it."

Nicholas cuts Fig in half with his iron blade, and the blade returns to his normal left hand. Nicholas covers both of his hands in spiraling wind that spins at such speed while being imbued with blue light.

"You can't kill me! I am the creator of the strongest wooden beings!" Fig yelled.

"And you will never make me feel fear! I will end you!" Nicholas thrust both of his fists at Fig.

The wind covering the fists tears every part of Fig until they vanish, and as Fig is being torn, his screams fill the atmosphere around Nicholas.

A massive wind blast occurs in the sky, and after the blast disappears, Nicholas is nowhere to be seen.
