Chapter 202 - I Didn’t Expect You to Be So Meticulous

"It's true, really true!"

Ye Qiu affirmed.

This was something he had already discussed with Ah Yin long ago.

After receiving Ye Qiu's confirmation, Tang Hao's heart trembled. His face first filled with boundless joy, then turned into utter bewilderment.

"Really… it's actually real!"

Tang Hao was so excited he could hardly believe it.

He blankly let go of Ye Qiu, then suddenly became conscious of his own long-neglected appearance. He continuously fussed over his messy hair and long beard, rubbing at his cheeks as if trying to scrub away years of grime. At the same time, he muttered under his breath:

"So many years… so many years, Ah Yin… Ah Yin is actually going to talk to me?!"

Ye Qiu bared his teeth and rubbed his shoulders. He had nearly been crushed by Tang Hao's grip just now—luckily he was tough enough. Lifting his gaze to look at Tang Hao, who was somewhat crazed, Ye Qiu's eyes flickered, his heart settling instead.

Not afraid of Tang Hao going mad—only afraid of him being too clear-headed, which would make him hard to fool.

No time to waste.

Before Tang Hao could calm down, Ye Qiu raised his hand, pointed toward the door, and probed cautiously:

"Uncle Hao, then… I'll head out first?"

"Out?"

Ye Qiu's words snapped Tang Hao back to his senses.

Tang Hao froze for a moment, then immediately nodded repeatedly, using a nearly hoarse voice to drive Ye Qiu away.

"Yes, get out. You get out."

"Ah Yin wants to talk to me alone. Get lost… get lost far away!"

Tang Hao's bloodshot eyes stared at Ye Qiu, impatient to chase him out. He would not allow anyone to disrupt this conversation that had been separated by over ten years.

That word "get lost" made Ye Qiu's cheek twitch, but now was not the time to care about such things.

He couldn't be bothered to argue with this mentally unstable fellow.

"Uncle Hao… I'm going out right now."

"Get lost far away!"

Tang Hao barked in a low voice.

"Got it!"

Ye Qiu nodded, quickly opened the door, and left the room.

Bang!

Ye Qiu shut the door, hurried to a tree some distance away, and leaned against the trunk as he sat down.

He raised his head to look at the moon.

Suddenly, Ye Qiu remembered that earlier… Ah Yin had said she wanted to give him a gift.

What could it be?

Ye Qiu's thoughts drifted toward the moon.

The cool breeze brushed past, the moonlight was cold and clear, yet Ye Qiu's heart grew hot… a sharp light flashed in his eyes.

What Ah Yin wanted to give him—could it be a soul bone?!

Hiss…!

This woman… how bold.

————————————————

The moment Ye Qiu stepped out of the room, under Tang Hao's eager anticipation—

The Blue Silver Emperor, over three chi tall beside the bed, moved without wind, blooming with green light that bathed Tang Hao in green.

Under Tang Hao's gaze,

Those green lights burned and flickered like little flames. Along with them came a light, ethereal voice, refreshing to the soul.

"Hao… is that you?"

Hearing that long-lost voice,

Tang Hao's heart seized. Tears immediately glimmered in his eyes, his turbid pupils blurring. His excited heart and trembling hands wanted to reach out—yet he feared offending the beauty.

His lips quivered, his voice hoarse and choked with sobs.

"Y-yes, it's me."

"Ah Yin, it's me! I'm Tang Hao… I'm here, I've always been here…"

Tang Hao could not help but kneel to the ground. Through tear-filled eyes, he finally couldn't resist lifting his rough hands, gently touching Ah Yin.

The moment he touched the branches and leaves,

They suddenly lost their luster, shriveling, turning yellow, withering, and finally falling to the ground.

"Ah Yin!"

"How… how could this happen?!"

Tang Hao cried out in alarm, his face draining of color.

His entire body stiffened, his breathing nearly stopped. Kneeling before Ah Yin, he no longer dared to move.

Suppressing the discomfort in her heart, Ah Yin spoke again.

"I'm fine."

"To be able to meet you… I merely burned a bit of my cultivation and life force."

Ah Yin's gentle words stunned Tang Hao.

In a daze,

The burning Blue Silver Emperor before his eyes overlapped with the Ah Yin who had sacrificed herself in his memories.

It was as if he had returned to the day Ah Yin offered herself in sacrifice!

Guilt, regret, fear, pain…

All kinds of emotions surged forth, filling Tang Hao's eyes with bloodshot veins. When he spoke, his voice carried a hoarse, crying tone.

"Ah Yin… you're really foolish. Was it worth it to do this?"

"Of course it was worth it."

Ah Yin's reply was resolute.

Facing Tang Hao, what she thought of in her heart was the man outside the door—everything she did for that bad embryo was worth it.

Besides, Ah Yin was not lying.

She truly was burning her cultivation—just a tiny bit.

Using this little bit of cultivation to give Ye Qiu a gift, what was there not worth it about that?

"Ah Yin…"

Tang Hao's burly body trembled violently. He lowered his head, tears falling, not daring to look at her.

Ah Yin followed the words she had long prepared.

"Hao, Ye Qiu told me that my child has always been by my side. Is that right?"

"R-right, yes."

Tang Hao nodded, crying and laughing at the same time.

"His name is Tang San. I named him to commemorate you."

Ah Yin fell silent.

Tang Hao's words made her feel nothing but disgust toward Tang San.

Forcing a smile, she said:

"So what Ye Qiu said was true…"

After the joy came doubt and probing.

"They say mother and child are connected by heart, but… why?"

"Why is it that he's right beside me, yet I don't feel even the slightest bit of that connection?"

"Hao, why do you think that is?!"

Hearing Ah Yin's words,

Panic flashed through Tang Hao's turbid eyes, cold sweat nearly breaking out all over his body. He hurriedly explained:

"Ah Yin… th-this must be because you haven't seen people for too long and you're overthinking things. Little San is someone I watched grow up. He's been sensible since childhood—he is our child."

Tang Hao's words seemed to be comforting Ah Yin, yet also hypnotizing himself.

"Am I really overthinking it?"

Ah Yin sneered inwardly. She hadn't even mentioned whether Tang San was truly her son, yet Tang Hao had already rushed to explain—how ironic.

As her words fell, another patch of leaves on Ah Yin's main body withered and fell.

Seeing Ah Yin like this, Tang Hao clenched his fists tightly, wracked with pain, yet still nodded in agreement.

"Of course."

"Maybe… I really do miss my child too much."

Ah Yin forced herself to echo him, suppressing her nausea.

"Mm… yes."

Tang Hao nodded. Just as he was about to breathe a sigh of relief, Ah Yin continued:

"Hao, these years must have been hard on you. I didn't expect you to become so meticulous, able to teach Little San to craft so many fine, delicate items…"

Ah Yin's words

Were like sharp thorns piercing Tang Hao's heart. His expression turned frantic, cold sweat pouring down his back. The spine he bent while kneeling to the ground curved even further, filled with remorse and apology.

Of course he knew what Ah Yin was referring to.

The hidden weapons in Tang San's hands.

Things he didn't understand, yet didn't dare to probe deeply into.

When Tang San cultivated, when he crafted those sleeve crossbows… how could Tang Hao not have seen it?

In the past, he had let Tang San fend for himself.

But after Tang San's martial soul awakened… he had already changed his mind. After all, the blood flowing in Tang San's body was still that of the Clear Sky Sect!

Tang Hao lowered his head, feeling both guilty and ashamed.

He shook his head and let out a mournful sound:

"Not hard… not hard at all, Ah Yin. You're the one who's given the most."
