My guards were up, as I trailed behind the man, and then my eyes scoured the streets, checking for guards. The Alpha could have sent him to get me and my brothers while he pretended to be from the Blood Moon Pack.
I couldn't be fooled.
So, I slipped away, turning on my heels in another direction and straight to the mansion. However, my eyes were starting to get blurry, and my bleeding hadn't stopped either.
I turned the corner, the mansion in sight, but then I froze.
"Did you think you could get away?"
It was the same man, his brows furrowed in displeasure.
"Why are you coming after me?" I leaned on the wall, as my chest heaved.
"I don't know who the hell you are and you want me to go with you?"
But he gasped, covering his parted lips, "You didn't believe me?"
"Why would I?" I sneered. "The bounty on my head could make you rich for life, you know."
