Chapter 29 - Chapter 29 – Preparations in the Quiet Days

Two days had passed since Jun and his goblins finished expanding the farmland to 800 square meters. The entire area had been replanted with radishes. Now, the goblins' daily work was limited to watering the crops and pulling out weeds. The atmosphere in Goblin's Grove had become much more peaceful than before.

On a cool morning, Kang Minho sat under a large tree, watching the goblins move around. He glanced toward Jun, who was inspecting the soil moisture on the western edge of the field.

"Hey, Jun," Minho called casually, "instead of letting them just pull weeds all day, how about we train some of them to shoot arrows?"

Jun looked over, raising an eyebrow. "Archery?"

"Yeah, just in case we get attacked again. Not all of them need to fight up close. Having some backup from a distance could really help."

Jun nodded. The idea made sense. After the previous attack by wild goblins, he understood clearly how lacking their defenses still were.

Without wasting time, they started gathering materials from around the personal dungeon. Minho crafted simple bows using tough branches and flexible vines from dungeon plants. Godon helped select a few goblins who looked nimble and steady-handed.

Training began. They set up makeshift targets from logs and bundles of straw. The goblins took turns shooting. At first, their arrows went everywhere—some hit trees, others nearly hit their fellow goblins—but Minho continued coaching patiently.

Meanwhile, Jun was busy digging. With help from Godon and two farmer goblins, he dug a pit trap three meters long and about one and a half meters deep near the edge of the thinning mist. The trap was later covered with sticks and leaves, blending perfectly with the ground.

"If they try to charge again, at least a few of them will fall into this first," Jun said, wiping sweat from his brow.

By nightfall, the goblins gathered near a small campfire made from dungeon wood. A few of them continued playing with their bows, laughing as they mimicked Minho's shooting stance.

Jun sat on a small wooden stool, gazing up at the artificial twilight sky of the dungeon. A smile tugged at his lips as he watched the growing camaraderie among the goblins.

"Goblin's Grove isn't just a farm anymore," he murmured softly. "It's becoming a home."

Still, his thoughts returned to the edge of the mist. Though the day had passed peacefully, he knew this calm wouldn't last forever.

His eyes drifted toward the hidden trap—perfectly camouflaged, invisible to the naked eye.

"This time…" Jun whispered to himself, "we'll be ready."
