The false sun in the sky of Goblin's Grove slowly rose, casting warm light over the farmland that now looked more alive than ever. After expanding the cultivated area to 800 square meters, Goblin's Grove had started to resemble a small, bustling village.
Goblin shouts echoed in the distance—not war cries, but the sounds of hard work.
Lee Jun stood in the middle of the fields, watching his goblins diligently plowing, weeding, and watering the crops. Godon led the first group calmly and efficiently. The two newly-tamed goblins were still stiff, but their eagerness to contribute was obvious.
Nearby, Kang Minho sat on a large stone, drinking water from a cut bamboo tube. His face was dusty, but a satisfied smile spread across it.
"I never imagined I'd end up as a farmer inside a dungeon," he said with a chuckle.
Lee Jun laughed softly and wiped the sweat from his forehead. "Me neither. But somehow… it feels peaceful."
A New Plan
As the artificial sun began to set, Jun held a small meeting inside their wooden hut. He unfolded a piece of paper and began explaining his plan.
"We can't keep planting only radishes. If we overproduce, prices will drop—and the soil might lose its nutrients. I've been thinking of adding some new crops."
He pointed to a simple diagram on the paper.
"We'll keep 60% of the land for radishes. The rest will be for green onions and cabbage. They grow fast and sell well in the market."
Kang Minho nodded. "Nice. It'll also keep the goblins from getting bored doing the same thing every day."
Jun smiled. "We'll start slow. Tomorrow, I'll head outside to buy some seeds and fertilizer."
Night in Goblin's Grove
That night, after a long day of work, Jun sat near a small campfire. Godon sat beside him, gazing at the slightly clearer artificial sky above. The thinning mist around the grove offered a growing sense of freedom.
Jun opened a lunchbox of rice and side dishes he had brought from outside the dungeon. He shared a portion with Godon, who accepted it with a quiet nod.
"You know, Godon," Jun said softly, "I used to be just a porter. Carrying bags, eating leftovers, sleeping on cold floors. But now… I have a place. I have all of you."
Godon looked at him silently, then placed a hand on his chest as if in salute.
Jun smiled warmly. "I don't know how far we'll get, but I think... this place could be our home."
End of Chapter
The night grew quieter. The soft sound of artificial wind blew through the grove. Jun looked up at the sky and closed his eyes for a moment.
"This isn't just about surviving anymore... It's about living."
Tomorrow, a new planting season would begin.
