The grand hall stretched around them, with its crystalline walls reflecting golden light from floating chandeliers overhead.
Samael and Lilith walked side by side through the center of the space, watching as gods moved about in preparation for the wedding.
Some arranged flowers along the towering pillars. Others hung banners of white and gold silk from the vaulted ceiling. Lm
Lilith's face was bright with excitement. Her eyes darted from one corner of the hall to another, taking in every detail as if committing it all to memory.
"It's perfect," she said. "Everything is coming together beautifully."
Samael walked beside her without expression as his gaze moved across the preparations with practically zero interest.
After a moment, he spoke.
"I need a favor from you,"
Lilith turned toward him immediately, as her excitement turned into a tender expression.
