RiNG Large-Scale Training Center.
Satoru and Anon were wandering around. This training center had proper equipment and wide-open fields. Unfortunately, they weren't here to train today, but to find teammates.
If they were going to form a team, they needed to find members.
Originally, Anon had wanted to find teammates in their class, but she soon gave up on that idea.
They had all already formed teams, and they were all too weak to be worth poaching.
There was a girl named Toyokawa Sakiko in the class next door who had defeated a teacher with her Milotic. She was considered the strongest in Class B and was a lone wolf with no team. Anon had wanted to invite her, but she disappeared somewhere right after school.
So, Anon dragged Satoru to yesterday's training center, RiNG, to find teammates.
Basically, most of Niji-no-Hane's high school students came to RiNG after school. The school grounds weren't big enough, but RiNG's facilities and fields combined were sufficient.
As for the teammates they were looking for, they couldn't be too weak.
For example, no Caterpies. What could it do? Use Electroweb to take down a Rayquaza?
Of course, if they were ambitious and wanted to battle Pokémon for a lifetime, they were also welcome.
But as the two wandered around, they couldn't find anyone they wanted to join.
It had been a month since school started. Anyone who wanted to form a team would have already done so. Most of the people here already had teams, making it really difficult to find free agents.
To find teammates now, they would probably have to look for people outside the Battling Department.
"I'm so tired... I really need to take a break... Ugh, Satoru, why don't you go look on your own?"
Anon collapsed onto a bench, her patience wearing thin.
She looked at Satoru and saw him standing there, full of energy, showing no signs of fatigue.
Even though they had been walking for almost an hour, Satoru was still bursting with energy, as if time had no meaning for him.
Is he actually a superman?
Anon couldn't help but have this thought.
"Alright, I get it. I'll contact you when I find someone."
Satoru clenched his fists, a fire igniting in his eyes.
The long search without finding anyone had only fueled his fighting spirit even more.
He left without a moment's hesitation, no lingering thoughts in his mind.
Boys are so full of energy... or is Satoru just special?
Anon watched the boy's receding figure, a trace of envy in her heart.
She gently picked up a menu, planning what drink to get while she rested.
Suddenly, her hand slipped, and the menu floated down like a feather. A wave of panic hit her, and a cold sweat broke out on her forehead.
"...Contact? Speaking of which, do I even have Satoru's contact information?"
They had only known each other for three days. They had been so focused on the team that they had completely forgotten to add each other as friends.
"Oh no..."
Anon held her head in her hands, starting to fret. But just then, a girl with long brown hair sat down in front of her.
"If you don't know, shall I tell you? Little Anon~"
Soyo casually picked up the menu. Hearing her name, Anon's grey pupils dilated. She quickly looked up, and seeing it wasn't the face of a former classmate, she breathed a sigh of relief.
"Who? More importantly, how do you know my name?"
"Nagasaki Soyo. Hmm~ I guess you could say I'm a classmate of Satoru's."
This morning's long essay, Satoru had interpreted it as Soyo's polite refusal of his invitation, so he hadn't paid it much mind and had simply replied, "Maybe next time."
This had directly caused the sleep-deprived Soyo to faint from anger.
(Fainted from anger at her dense boyfriend.jpg)
I'll take matters into my own hands!
This time, Soyo planned to go on the offensive to get into the team. She was quite confident in her own skills.
"I'm very interested in your team. Can I join?"
Soyo sat in the chair, her hands crossed under her chin, a smile on her face.
For Anon, this was the first person to proactively ask to join.
Though she didn't know what was going on, she had no intention of refusing.
Great, Soyo-san, LOVE~
"No problem!"
Anon nodded enthusiastically, but Soyo's gaze gradually darkened.
She was wary of the girl in front of her.
A girl with this much positive energy was too dangerous.
In order to be with her boyfriend, she had to kick this girl out!
Take down Chihaya Anon!
It is my undeniable duty!
...
"Now we can have a Pokémon battle, right?"
On the other side, Satoru watched a silver-haired girl with heterochromia slowly finish her matcha parfait, feeling happy.
The silver-haired girl's name was Kaname Raana. When he struck up a conversation, he learned she didn't have a team, so he immediately invited her. She said she wanted a matcha parfait, and Satoru agreed without hesitation.
They made a deal: if Satoru won, she would join the team. If he lost, he would buy her another matcha parfait.
"Yeah, let's go." Raana looked at him, her eyes sparkling with curiosity and excitement. She nodded, accepting his invitation.
The rule was 1v1. Since Satoru only had two Pokémon at the moment, Raana happily agreed.
The two went to a battlefield. Satoru looked at Raana and felt a certain aura from her. He could vaguely sense that she was strong.
Probably stronger than the practical skills teacher, brimming with confidence and a wild energy.
She's like a cat...
This level of opponent is what makes it interesting!
Satoru took a Poké Ball from his pocket and threw it hard.
"Froakie, I choose you!"
A brilliant light flashed, and Froakie's figure appeared on the battlefield.
"Kero~"
"Come on out, Torracat~~"
At the same time, Raana gave a light flick of her wrist, taking an Ultra Ball from her pocket and throwing it decisively.
"Mrow!~" A Torracat appeared in front of Froakie, letting out a majestic roar that made Froakie instinctively take a step back.
"Whoa... the pre-evolution of the universe's number one..."
A few drops of sweat appeared on Satoru's forehead as he felt Torracat's intimidating presence.
But he quickly regained his composure, though he wanted to complain about one thing.
Since when can your Torracat intimidate trainers? Is that even legal?
He looked at his Froakie and saw that it was still frozen, warily watching the Torracat.
The opponent's level was high, a gap that probably couldn't be bridged by type advantage.
"Scared?"
Raana smiled faintly.
[Host, this chick is so annoying. Let's thrash her!]
Even Miss Furiko couldn't help but speak up. Hearing the taunt, Satoru clenched his fists, his fighting spirit surging.
"No way. This is just the beginning. Froakie, show this Torracat your power!"
"Kero!"
Froakie also broke through its inner fear, responding to its trainer.
"So fiery An interesting man"
Seeing this, Raana waved her hand forward.
"Torracat, use Shadow Claw!"
