Larissa's POV
"How could you let him see you?!" Kent snapped at me in anger.
I sat there in t
he living area, not daring to move an inch from where I sat.
Not only was I worried about the boys, I was scared for their safety…
"I didn't know he would show up here, Kent. You should be the one to tell me why another Alpha would pay yours a visit!"
Kent is the only one aware of my children and for all the time I have known him, he's been nothing but a great friend, keeping my secret.
"Alpha Jade isn't the type to discuss political matters openly. I would have known if that was the case"
I glanced at the boys' room. They were sound asleep.
"What did he say? " Kent asked.
"He... he said he would be back," I said.
I wonder what the boys are up to…
I must have startled them so much that they wanted to stay away from me…
"I yelled at them," I said, feeling terrible for what I did..
I have never been so harsh to them, and doing that all of a sudden must have really scared them both.
"You were scared. I understand"
I covered my face with my hands, this was going to be really difficult for me…
"I need to get them out of here…" I announced in resolve..
"To where? You've been running away from him for as long as I can remember! It's been four years, Larrissa! You think he's going to let you be now that he found you?"
"I…"
A knock came on the door, startling us both. Kent glanced at me, wondering if I was expecting to meet someone..
Of course, I wasn't expecting anyone…
"Larrissa?"
My heart sank, it was Darell!
What the hell is he doing here?!
"He followed you…."
Why did he really think it was okay to follow me home? Did he really think it was okay to show up uninvited?
"I need to see him."
"The kids? What exactly are you intending to do?" Kent asked.
"Keep them indoors."
I made for the door, it was indeed Darrell in all of his royal splendor.
I bowed my head slightly, fighting the urge to yell and demand answers from this man.
What right did he think he had to come to my house uninvited?
He was with his royal entourage, clothed in golden robes and the carriage I had been taken in earlier…
I didn't notice the colour and splendor of everything that came with him…
"I told you I would be back."
"I believe you should have asked how comfortable I was with this" I offered in the most polite tone I could find.
Darrell approached me slowly…
I was expecting to see his beta, the man who had rejected me so coldly, but he was nowhere in sight…
What happened to him?
"I believed you were from my pack. I was looking for you in the wrong place. "
Was he looking for me?
"Why is that?"
He had no reason to look for me, unless…
I didn't want to consider that possibility. I made sure that no one ever set eyes on the boys, let alone question who their father could be…
Seeing him now and the striking resemblance, I wanted him out of here.
"You pretend not to be aware, but you know it so well. "
"Alpha, I don't understand why you would look for me. "
I knew exactly what he was talking about but the fear that he might be right scared me…
"I want you."
My eyes met his in shock. Did those words just slip out of his mouth?
"That is why I've been searching for you everywhere. That night has haunted my dreams for many days and I knew I had to find you by all means…"
I took a step back, the memory of that night came rushing..
"Alpha Darrell "
"Darrell" He corrected
"I really think you should leave."
"Not if you are coming with me. Now that I have found you, we're leaving together " he said.
Could my day get any worse?!
"I can't come with you! " I snapped.
"Why not?"
"I have a life here. I can't walk away from that."
He regarded me in silence, almost like he was trying to read my thoughts.
I wanted to make sure my kids were out of sight, and the more time he stayed there, the more I wanted to end this conversation.
"I know you felt the same thing I did that night. Don't deny it. I know there's something…."
"There's absolutely nothing between us! Please, you really need to leave. Now"
His arms wrapped me around my waist and pulled me closer to his body. His breath came down to my skin, making me feel warm all of a sudden.
I wanted to lean in close to him so badly, but doing that would mean I agree with him…
It meant I wanted him back and I wanted that magical night to happen again…
"Tell me, tell me if you don't want to feel my hands on your skin again…"
He traced his fingertips on my bare arm, making me shudder in pleasure…
Every sense was heightened and I wanted more than anything for him to take me.
Deep, hard, fast….
"You feel every bit of desire. I know you want it as badly as I do.."
His eyes followed his fingers, tracing every vein in my body and driving me insane with pleasure…
"Tell me…yes or no."
His lips were right behind my ears and soon nestled on my shoulders, dropping feathery kisses…
"I…I need you to leave" I stammered, but the moan that followed betrayed my words.
He stopped and I almost regretted my words when he took a step back…
"You still want to deny this? Our connection? You're coming with me. Tonight"
"No…I'm not going anywhere with you. You don't own this pack and I am not obligated to do anything you say"
