The moment Shouten's physical body entered the Spatial Rift, it was torn apart. Darkness surrounded him—utterly endless and devoid of light. His spirit endured silently in the abyss, bearing the endless solitude. He had no idea how much time had passed—perhaps a year, ten years, or even a century.
He didn't know how long he'd have to endure this crushing solitude, but as long as he was still conscious, he would survive. Even if this place was hell, he'd endure. He needed to discover who he truly was...
Even if it took forever.
"Anya, wake up! Are you okay?" A frantic voice disturbed Shouten's dazed consciousness. In his mind, he muttered, *Huh? Has someone new come to hell? Great, now I'll have someone to talk to.*
He lifted his head and saw a pretty young woman talking to him, her voice full of words he couldn't understand—at least at first. But then, strangely, he realized he could actually get what she meant.
Seeing him finally awake, the young woman sighed in relief and softly comforted him, "Don't feel too sad. Where there is war, there will always be death. We all need to learn how to accept it. Even though you're an orphan now, you're still one of us—you belong to the Uchiha clan."
Uchiha Anya hadn't fully grasped her meaning yet. All he felt was that he had a body again, and the surrounding darkness had vanished. The world now possessed color. Could it be...he had come back to life?
After two full days of constant fatigue, Shouten—well, now should be called Anya—finally accepted the reality of his transmigration. After passing out that day and waking up again, he discovered his body had regressed, appearing around eleven or twelve years old. Yet, mentally, he had evolved to a level beyond anything he could have imagined. Exactly how strong his spiritual senses were, he couldn't be sure, but at least he could perceive everything happening within ten meters around him without needing to look directly.
From the memories stored within this body, he learned he belonged to a prestigious clan. However, his parents' marriage had been arranged by elders with no affection between them—only quiet hostility. Neither was particularly outstanding within the clan, so their child—in other words, himself—was born without receiving much attention or recognition from the family.
Additionally, since a large-scale war had recently erupted, both parents were called into battle. After one major conflict, he unfortunately became an orphan. Upon hearing of their deaths, he fainted on the spot.
*How fragile. So what, now I'm an orphan? Being raised alone isn't bad either—I'm used to it already. By the way, since I'm an orphan now, maybe I should change my name. How about Yasuo? Haha.*
Anya was too excited. Reborn into another life, he felt this existence was just something he had gained by sheer luck. As he happily wandered through such thoughts, he paused. *Wait—the Uchiha Clan… why does that sound familiar?*
*Oh right! Isn't that from the Naruto anime?*
The legendary Uchiha Clan—though ultimately doomed to near annihilation in their prime, their power was undeniable. Konoha itself was jointly founded by the Senju and Uchiha clans, and Sasuke, one of the main protagonists, came from this very clan.
Wait a second. In the anime, only Sasuke survived the Uchiha Clan massacre. Does that mean I'm also someone who was supposed to die?
That won't do at all. After finally being reborn into this world, I must survive no matter what. I never want to feel that loneliness in darkness again. Maybe I should find Itachi Uchiha first and eliminate him beforehand?
But he immediately dismissed the idea. Regardless of whether he could defeat Itachi or not, even if he killed him, the fate of the Uchiha Clan wouldn't change—only the executioner would be replaced by someone else.
More importantly, there wasn't even a trace of Itachi in his mind. Given his genius status, it was impossible he hadn't heard of him. The only explanation was that Itachi hadn't been born yet. He must have arrived before the main story even began. Damn it! If that's the case, then the familiar plot could only refer to the massacre of the Uchiha Clan.
I wish I'd known I'd end up here. I should've watched Naruto a hundred times back then. He remembered watching dozens of episodes when he was in school but gave up halfway. Later, he only briefly glanced through summaries via short videos—at least he roughly knew how the story unfolded.
Now that he had come to this world, the most important thing was definitely chakra. After all, in the early stages of the shinobi world, it was the standard used to measure a ninja's strength.
Uchiha Anya gathered chakra within his body, and a stream of chakra began to gather at his fingertips.
Relying on memories from his past life, he successfully performed the three basic ninja techniques—Clone Jutsu, Transformation Jutsu, and Substitution Jutsu.
After finishing, he sighed quietly, gaining a new understanding of the Naruto world—it was simply amazing. Back in his previous life when he traveled to Fuso on a treasure-hunting mission, the ninjas he encountered mostly used sword techniques, hidden weapons, poisons, shuriken, and so forth.
Against those, he could easily escape or even counter-kill them, so he carried a certain degree of disdain toward ordinary ninjas. But here, ninjas reigned supreme. A Kage-level ninja could easily destroy a country—it was like they were ultimate war machines.
Therefore, if he wanted to live comfortably in this world, becoming a ninja was his only path forward. After all, strength was the only truth.
Having decided his direction, his eyes narrowed with determination. From what he understood, chakra generally referred to a mixture of spiritual energy and physical energy in equal parts. Having experienced long-term loneliness in darkness, his spiritual power had reached an astonishing level, which was why he had just managed to perform the Three Body Techniques successfully. However, if he wanted to grow stronger faster, the next step was undoubtedly training his physical body.
Just as he resolved himself to train harder, the woman who woke him up two days ago appeared at that moment. Seeing him, she said, "The clan has assigned an elder to take care of you. From now on, you'll be living with him."
Uchiha Anya refused without hesitation, "No need. I've decided to live alone. My future life will be arranged by myself."
"Hmm?" Her expression changed, and she scolded him, "What do you mean by that? This is for your own good. What independence can a little child like you possibly have?"
Uchiha Anya remained indifferent and silent.
She ran into a wall and snorted coldly, "Fine then. Do as you please."
Once the woman was gone, he let out a quiet sigh of relief. To be honest, he didn't dislike this Uchiha woman — he was actually thankful for her. Deep down, he knew she genuinely had his best interests at heart — but still…
As for the path ahead, he already had a vague idea. He was deliberately erasing all traces of being part of the Uchiha clan. Becoming Hokage was impossible — Konoha had never had an Uchiha Hokage before. Staying with the Uchiha was just as hopeless — it would mean certain death. That left very few options indeed.
Luckily, he was still young, and after his parents died, he didn't have any close family left. The only woman who truly cared for him had already been pushed away. Now, he finally had room to maneuver.
He sorted through his parents' belongings, packed all his personal effects, changed out of clothes marked with the Uchiha crest, and took the inheritance they left behind. He looked around at this so-called "home" — he had only been staying here for a few days — and walked away without a trace of nostalgia.
Before leaving, he recalled that woman's name — Mikoto Uchiha. If he ever gained the power one day, he vowed he would return and save her.
